Pushing the Depth Limits of the 800

Depth is one thing that still baffles me. Does the sensitivity or recovery setting make the depth read true? The manual says about 2" per bar up to 4. I still try to guess how deep if I see 4 bars I think 8". Most of the time I have to dig deeper.

That is some excellent and helpful advice! I hear similar stuff on a mineralized beach and those two things could unlock some good stuff. Thx

    Bonehead mistakes...........

Starting out I was getting good targets but they disapeared when I tried to pinpoint or dig. Finally figured out I was detecting my boat shoe eyelets :( Not as bad as this tho:

    It's pitiful... But its Something..!

When I do that, I think of it as training for the real deal. You practice listening, interpreting tones, pinpointing, digging; all you need is to pass the coil over a good target. So you are 90% there! :)

Post Your Thoughts...!! Enjoy Yor Hobby..!

Reminds me of the British sitcom "Dectorists", where the main character had a poster of all his pull tabs listed by year and brand. Good to keep smiling.

Is the equinox update worth it??

I agree with @CPT_GhostLight, runs smoother, more stable near EMI for me. And again to my ears, the tones on a coin shaped object that is really a coin sound better, not as thin sounding. YMMV

V3 Update Beach Report; My First Impressions

Thanks Colonel Dan, glad to hear from you. My humble question is why did ML seem to think "Large targets in Asia" would require a major update roll out? What are they finding over there?

    I Can't Take This Anymore..!

If you are staring at her and telling her how to do it the whole time you might be making her nervous. Time to let her try on her own and you go take a walk for a while. You could also secretly drop a coin in front of her find. Try two tones to simplify until she gets all the mechanical stuff...
