Not really about todays hunt, but more of a question.

The question is, for all you old timers (no offense meant), how long have you kept and continuosly used the same detector? The reason I ask is because after we had finished our hunt today I asked my dad how long had he been hunting. Since 1989, he said. Well, that got me to thinking about how...

I'm just gonna get straight to the point: 3 silver rings on Sunday!!!:hot:

Went out to a housing complex on post today. I started off by hunting one of the small yards, but after only finding a small amount of clad and a junk ring I decided to try one of the parks. I started off by hunting around a slid and by the time I got half way around it I found my 1st silver...

Maybe I abuse my cameras too much? HMMMM...

There was that time the batteries leaked. Then again, I was able to save my camera after the acid dried up. The only damage was the pealed off paint in some spots. Theres also all the times when I go hiking. Maybe the cold is getting to them, or could it be when they bump up against me when I'm...

Roscue2's first silver coin!!!:detecting::super: ( oh, yeah, and Dad found a silver coin too:rolleyes:)

Went to the housing complex we had been hunting this year. I decided to give the playground behind it a try, while Dad finished the last front yard. I was doing pretty good and was moving towards the next slide when all of a sudden I got a solid signal for a nickel at about 4 inches down. As...

    Question about the 250

Does a high sensitivity allow the 250 to detect deeper?? Does it depend on the type of soil??? I'm hunting in clay here.

For those of you who make videos of detecting out in the field, I have a question...

What type of camera do you use and about how much did it cost? The reason I'm asking is because its pretty hard for me to believe that people are going out into the field with $200+ video cameras and risking them getting dirty and damaged. Also I have been thinking about making some videos...

:nono: I hope this guy filled his holes....

He either didn't fill them or the birds dug them up. Either way, hopefully he filled them. Check out moment 5:14 with all the holes. From the beginning of the video you'll notice that the there wasn't anything wrong with the area he was detecting, but then....

Its amazing what big name stores can pass for good products...

Just my opinion. For a laugh read some of the reviews and questions the people are asking about MDs.:rofl: Good for beginners, but I don't know where some of them are getting the "best". Heres are just a few examples: Store junk More store junk Not trying to hurt anyones feelings, but I...

    Just realized something...

I had never actually done a search to see what type of detectors were available from stores like Walmart, Kmart, Target, ect. Well, apparently Bounty Hunter and Tecnec are the only MD companies that have taken advantage of the big name stores: however, from what I can tell they don't have their...

Well, I guess that ends my January detecting season. :sadwalk: Hopefully February will bring back the warm weather. What to do, what to do.

:twodetecting:Another great day of MDing:twodetecting:( Kinda long)

We were able to get out today from about 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The day began with a light rain by the time we got to the site. We decided to see if we could wait it out... well, after about 20 mins. we decided to leave and go to a nearby gas station. By the time we got out of the gas station it...

    :detecting:First silver of the year...

for my Dad. He spent a couple of hours at our new detecting spot for the year. The new hunting spot is a huge area full of houses from the 40s that have playgrounds in between them every once in a while. This site should keep us preoccupied for this years hunting season. His finds: $3.09 Toy...

Many of us on the forum have experienced little kids coming up to us and asking us questions out in the field, but how many of us have experienced thi

My Dad and me went out on our 1st hunt of 2010 today. We were hunting across the street from a park where a few kids were playing..... well, about an hr and a half into the hunt these kids on bikes road up next to the park on the other side of the street. I could hear them talking about...

Is this normal for a digital camera that...?...

isn't very expensive? My camera(Vivicam X327) seems to not be able to capture the sky and has problems with light when I take photos on some occasions. By this I mean it either turns the sky completely white on cloudy days or produces a completely dark photo when the sun is shining on a clear...

Never got around to posting this one...

This little guy was found while on vacation in CA in the winter of 2008. One of my better nature photos. Unfortunately, he was missing the end of his tail when I found him.

Todays haul: First haul in a while

Went to 3 places today. First 2 where smothered in trash. The last place is where we found most of our clad. Dads totals: $2.66 1954-d wheat 1953-s wheat Me: $1.91 1950 wheat No silver... HH P.S. I just began to read the Dec. issue of W&E treasures and was pleased to see the...

Does anything happen to your SD card if you just pull it out of your computer??..

The reason I'm asking is because my Dell doesn't seem to have a way to get it out like I would with a thumb drive. With a thumb drive theres an icon at the bottom of the screen that I click on and it ejects the thumb drive.( not literally of course) I can just pull out the SD card right?? I...

    Question about the 250...

How do you get the most depth out of it while at the same time it still being able to figure out whats what? I've noticed that most of the targets I've been finding at the places I hunt are usually around 2 to 4 inches deep. Then again I don't usually measure how deep the targets actually are...

    Need help with my pro-pointer....:sadwalk:

Went on a hunt yesterday. About 15 minutes into the hunt the pointer started going crazy. It would go off like an alarm clock and then switched over to a loud noise. The noise never ended if I just waited for it to stop. I could turn it off and the noise would go away, but it would come right...
