    test garden

I have had coins buried in my test garden now for three weeks. Ranging from 6 to 12 ", and from IHP's, V nickels, Rosey dimes, Silver quarters, Lg cents, and Kennady half's. So far the deepest coin I can hit with the D2 is 10" half. and 8"'s for quarter. I hope the D2 does better on deep coins...

How many still use a vintage classic detector from the 70's-80's?

Still have my Whites Eagle Spectrum I bought when it first came out. I use it when I go to playgrounds with a 6" coil. Works great.

    Test bed for US coins

I just finished a test bed for coins, a total of 23 coins at a buried distance of 6, 8, 10, and 12". I know that a freshly buried coin is harder to detect than a coin that has been in the ground for years. Any idea how long it takes for a buried coin to be detected the same as coins buried a...

Anyone try out the Deus 2 and then switch back to the Deus?

I have both, and to tell you the truth, the D1 is finding everything the D2 is finding. So I will be keeping both

    Bad Deus 2 9" coil/Warranty Repair experience

I had my remote repaired my detector electronics, just needed reset. took two weeks from start to return. It was under warranty, but I think I still had to pay for shipping to them with a RA number.

    D-1 pulls them out again

Took the D2 out along with my D1. EMI was too much for the D2, so I used the D1 and pulled out a 1946 rosey, 1942 merc, 1896 Barber dime, 1864 IHP and 7 wheat pennies from 1936 to 1953. Not bad for a couple hours.

    Shrinking metal detecting locations

I just bought a 150cc scooter that gets 80 MPG for the short trips to the store and detecting spots close to home. I have an XP 280 backpack that carries everything I need.

    Discrimination or notch?

Notch is usually for small sections, but which one reduces depth more, notch or discrimination. I always thought discrimination reduced depth.

    XP D2 depth

I have been using the D2 in an open field that has 1700's artifacts. So far I have found lots of flat buttons, Va half pennies and A few CW relics. All the things I have found has not been more than 8" deep. Any of my other detectors would find them. So, in my opinion, either there is not...

    first time out since repairs.

got out today for a couple short hunts. It worked great. Tried the fast program with the X/Y screen. I am starting to get the hang of the X/Y. Did a lot of test digs, it did not lie to me. dug a lot of aluminum, but that how you learn. Sticking with V.6 for now.

    Chatty machine just started

try the mono frequency in your garden, might just be extra EMI in your area. I can't use mine at all in my back yard unless I use mono.

    D2 remote update

My remote is back home. From the time it was mailed to time it arrived today was 15 days. It is the same remote, not a new one. I'm happy, but now it is going to rain the next three days. It came back with v.6. I am going to leave it there for awhile. Happy digging you all.
