    What to choose...

...a P.I.-detector or Excal II for finding lost jewelry in saltwater? If ground-balancing with the Excal sometimes could be a problem and cause swearing - wouldn

    POWERFUL SANDSCOOP

Very early on in my interest in metal-detecting I realized that it is (i.e. if you want it to be = if you want to be successful) quite scientific. It is not just to go out there (especially if you are looking for goodies in the water) and start swinging - it takes practice, patience, endurance...

    Storage

What would be a good storage for the valuable items that one find when detecting? I was thinking of using one of these small, plastic containers which is used to protect money and other valuables when swimming - but I am not sure that it will be safe to handle the lid off and on every time a...

    Full length rubber gloves

I have read on this forum that "some guys up in the north" use full length rubber gloves with a liner to protect them from the cold. And since I too will work in relatively chilly waters, I was wondering if someone knows the dealers name? Because these ones will just not do it...

    What would YOU chose?

If you out of three modifications to your brand new Excalibur II only were to do one (if any!), what would it be? * Change the original headphones to a better pair? * Change and hard-wire to a more efficient coil? * Change the rod to a more balanced one? Or perhaps something else that I have...

Skid Plate or no Skid Plate... that is the question

So how about it - am I better of removing the Skid Plate and put some "heavy-duty-marine-epoxy-glue" in its place; or is it better to leave it there and occasionally remove it and rinse out any foreign objects?

    Searching as effectively as possible

I was just wondering what the metal-detecting population out there is doing to maximize the search for whatever one is hunting for? For some time ago, I watched a short video on YouTube where two guys was searching a lake with one detector each; but the search seamed rather haphazard to me...

    ISBN and magnets

First of all, I would like to say "Thank You!" to all you guys out there and the information I have received when it comes to my "just-about-to-order-metal-detecting-equipment". Did not even think about a life-west, for example; and that the choice of waders was that important had not even...

Will this equipment do the job?

I am now finally ready, after months and months of reading and studying the many a vast "secrets" of metal-detecting, to order my equipment which I exclusively intend to use for finding lost jewellery (hopefully gold!) in the moderately salty waters of the Baltic Sea. But I would like to...

    Greetings from Sweden

Hi everyone! My name is Anders and I am just about to embark on the exciting hobby of metal-detecting. I have been reading quite a few posts this evening/night, and just had to sign up for an "account" so that I will be able to ask questions and to share my own experiences with you all. And I...
