St Jude cancer hospital Memphis tn/Ronald McDonald House:angel:

Those pesky pull tabs we all encounter are worth money to kids with cancer, they are high grade aluminum. Just pull up Ron Mc. house and look for "pop tabs". They have a program to collect them, it helps support families who are in Memphis with their child getting treatment at St. Judes.

I am just scratching my head! I have hunted a new site 3 times..............

it has old bottle parts, scrap metal, old pieces of wood, in short, a very old area just bulldozed. Not a speck of grass. My E-trac is in the basic coins program, auto+3, I have not been able to locate a single target! I finally tossed an old penny down and I get little response on it from 3...

I won, I won, finally all the years of hard work, college, beer and women have paid off.

I think I am going to cry, I want to thank my mother for having me, and I specially want to thank all you little people, you all look little in those pictures. This is not going to change me one bit, I'll still lie to the bitter end, exaggerate how deep my finds were and dress like Bryce and...

Seeking advice on finding the deep stuff

Dig a hole no more than an 2 inches across and deep as needed, put in the silver dime and add an inch of dirt at a time and pack it hard, then the next inch and so forth. Then, soak it down good. Even a dime/rust nail combo is good. A test garden will train you to recognize what coins at depth...

Got a "grit your teeth" story to tell anyone?....................Here is one you might enjoy, I was hunting an area

right off the railroad tracks known to be busy during the civil war. Had an old hotel site etc, I had been hunting for a couple of hours with little to show, when a guy shows up with a pitch fork looking thing and started turning the soil over with it, no detector, just looking, I sh-t you not...

Did you ever have a local "Master Yoda" of detecting so to speak......:please:..

I knew this older man who used an old Fisher 1265x with a little 8 inch coil, he could make some of the best finds, I paid attention when he spoke. Haven't seen him in awhile, I wonder.

A good old coin garden will answer many of your questions.....................

I like many of you had many questions about my Quattro when I first got it. I kept playing around with it, and thats what you are doing.......playing around, and thats fine. if you really want some serious answers, start your own coin garden, create different situations for example, a silver...

Difficult learning curve of the Explorer..............................:nerd:

Out of curiosity, I put the battery pack in and powered up my Explorer, which starts in smartfind screen after resetting it, walked out back and located a dime about 8 inches down in my test garden: elapsed time 14 minutes. I wanted to find coins, it did its job, what learning curve? I'll take...
