I don't have 2 nickels to rub together

I have 6! Gold plated thingy that I suspect came off a broach or pin. Also a 1912D barber dime. Seems like every pass I made I found a nickel there for a while. I haven't found anything newer than the 40s from this place. I had a real whispery quarter signal that turned out to be my first...

first hunt of the year and first barber half

Finally warmed up enough to turn the fields into a muddy mess. Pulled this 1902 O barber half and an 1884 Indian that I chunked with my shovel trying to chip it out of the ground.

let there be noise in here

Finally got out. Took the deus for a soggy spin and came up with this 1902 O barber half and an 1884 IH that I hit with my shovel. Happy hunting!

I got out in the drizzle yesterday

I played with the Deus again yesterday. I hit a 100x100 spot in a field then I was going to switch to the CTX and see what I missed. I didn't get the chance. Apparently one of the kids decided to see how long he could hold his breath at school(until he passed out). He knocked his head on the...

    Finds over the weekend

Still learning the machine but I seem to have gotten the basics down. None of the silver I've found with the Deus rang up higher than 83. I get a lot of iron falses in the mid 90s. I'm thinking about notching 95-99 out to cut some of them out. Have any of you dug anything 95 or higher that...

    Weekend finds

Found everything except a merc Indian and wheat with the deus. No date on the two center but she is my first. One ring is junk and the other is silver but not marked.

    First time out

Took the Deus for a spin at an old fairground(now a corn field) came out with a 1941 merc/1908 barber dime and two wheats. I love how light this thing is. Seems to get pretty decent depth as well. The 9 inch coil is great for getting between the corn rows. Waiting on my 11 inch coil to...

    Selling Whites DFX

Comes with stock 950 coil and the 13 inch Ultimate coil. Also has the inline probe. It's too heavy for Heidi to use(so I ordered her/me  a Deus). First $550 takes it. Far cheaper than what I paid for it. If noone from the club wants it I'll post it in the classified for $650. Just...

    Missing the meeting

I just bought a house and have to be out of my rental by the 4th. The painting/moving has begun so I will have to miss this meeting. I'll try and get ahold of Pam or Steve tonight to see if they can take the treasurer's box to the meeting for me.

    Oldest Silver so far

I found a few mushrooms Monday so I tried my luck again yesterday and got skunked. So, on the way home I stopped by a field for an hour to see if I could at least find something. About 30 minutes in I got a choppy 12-42 at 7 inches. Out popped this beauty of a dime.

i had the same idea as Jeff.

I didn't find much at the fun hunt so I went out for an hour today. After getting skunked with the mushrooms today(found 20 yesterday) I decided to hit a field on the way home.

my oldies so far this month

I had to scrub the heck out of the large cent to get the dare to come out. Shame that 1866 IH didn't survive the fertilizers. Would of been a nice coin.

My honey hole has been planted

So it looks like I'll be back to the parks and yards until the harvest.

    Got out yesterday

I went out to a field after work and pulled another Union button a flat button and an 1866 IH that is pretty toasted. I'm going to try and soak it for a couple of days to see if I can get any more of the crud off.
