    B-day hunt tomorrow.

I turned the big 32 today. I'm taking tomorrow off to dirt fish if anyone else is off and wants to go let me know. Don't know where i'll go yet but you're more than welcome to come along.

New project occupying my time...can't wait to finish and get the detector back out!

The first picture is of the tank before I decided to overhaul it. The rest are the progress of the "Do It Yourself Styrofoam Background" I decided to build. It's going to be a month before the PH levels back down and I can start planting and putting fish in again.

    Diggers

Anyone seen this show on National Geographic? It came on last night and I caught two episodes. They use Garrett AT Pros and find some pretty cool stuff. I think they over inflate the value of whatever they pull out of the ground and use some annoying terms but its a decent show. Only drawback...

    Valentine's Day Gift

The girl I'm seeing sent me this basket. The florist bent some wire to try and make a metal detector and the chocolate coins look like Kennedy Halves. Very thoughtful of her. I may have found a keeper without having to use my E-trac!

    My last hunt of 2011

Here is a pic of the results of my last hunt of 2011. We are having crazy weather here. Cold last couple of days but supposed to be back to 50 on Friday. Very odd weather for central Illinois.

    My last hunt of 2011

I went back to that small park on the 30th and found a few keepers. Still haven't received my 6x8 but hopefully it will be in this week. I heard it may be 50 again Friday.

    Does anyone else

Look at the clock and instead of seeing the time you see target IDs? For instance it's 12:46 right now and all I see is Silver!

    15x12 vs 12x10

Besides the weight difference what differences have you guys seen between the two coils. I know the larger coil goes deeper and all but I've dug coins at 11-12 inches with the stock coil. I've heard the SEF are much more stable in trashier conditions etc. Just wanted your opinions between the two.

    12-12-11

Tried out two tone ferrous for a little bit after work at the old post office house. Came out with two buffaloes 1913 T2 and a 1920, one 1901 Indian, and one 1929 wheat. I only did a little square of the yard. Seems you have to go even slower in TTF to try and get between the nails. I assume...

Looks like winter is taking a break for a bit.

The ground was pretty frozen when I started yesterday. First signal was a 1901 O barber dime. Sure wish I would have just marked it and came back after the ground softened up a bit later in the day. Gave it a nice big scratch trying to chisel it out of the dirt. Found a 28D, and 44 merc also...

    Cold and Muddy but fun!

Steve and I had a pretty good hunt today. Went back to that house I found the Seated half at. The weather wasn't too bad and the ground softened up by noon. First target was the barber. We started at 9:00 a.m. so the ground was still pretty solid. Had to chisel the coin out and ended up...

Got out yesterday before the snow

Only had 35 minutes of daylight left when I got off work so I walked across the street to a park and came out with a 1917D and a 27.

Since today was so nice :detecting:

I went to the park after work for all of 35 minutes. Came out two mercs 17 D, 27, and two wheats. $0.45 in clad too. I sure hope Sunday hits 40 degrees. I'd love to go back to that house I found the seated half at.

    Hunt #7

Went back to that house I had hunted before with my Ace 250. Found about $2.50 in clad, 3 Wheats, a fake 18k ring, a 1876 Seated Half!!! The 18k on the ring looks like it may actually be 18k who knows. Great way to end a season!

    Hunt #6

I spent my lunch over at the park today and a couple minutes after work but my hands got too cold. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow but rain in the morning. I'm going to try and get out sometime tomorrow and then hang it up for the winter since its supposed to turn COLD Sunday.
