    Test your coils guys ..............................

Schultzie, The TX boost is not just a feature to test a coil. Generally TX boost is used in very clean ground (low mineralization) to boost the signal when your looking at a deep target. The tx boost isn't really designed to be used all the time, unless you have pretty "sweet" ground (as fox...

    upgrade centers revised

NP - We only just found out the day they released the certificate online. - The certificate on the website now has the current Upgrade Centers. http://whiteselectronics.com/images/stories/v3i_upgrade_certificate.pdf

    upgrade centers revised

Actually your list is not completely correct - White's of California is no longer an Upgrade Center.

How long is turnover time for upgrading to V3i ?

We're the Upgrade Center in Florida and we are up and running. - And yes, it does take quite a while to peform the upgrade (about a hour per unit). The certificate is also available on White's Website with instructions. I believe the factory is quite backed up with repairs and upgrades -...

Carl, Question about recommended RX gain

You said "I know my coil I just sent in would not give me a suggested RX gain in the air over 5 or 6. It would NOT overload at rx 15 and tx boost on", however you did not state whether or not you could run your detector reliably at higher rx gain settings? I don't know how you can use the...

Carl, Question about recommended RX gain

This is the advice I give my customers: Using the recommended rx gain is not a reliable way to check whether your coil is good or bad. Ignore the suggested RX gain and run your RX gain as high as possible while maintaining stability. And a low "recommended" RX Gain is not a sign of a bad coil...

Tidbits of info on the V3i Upgrade

Hey everyone, Here are some answers to a few lingering questions. Yes, you can send your detector to the Factory for the upgrades, however they have a quite a backlog of V3's to upgrade. SO, the best thing to do right now is to please wait about 3 weeks (May 10, 2010) before sending your unit...

    VISION V3 PROBLEMS

You haven't stated whether or not your reduced the RX Gain and Disc Sens, and by chance if it's EMI - using the frequency offset can help reduce outside interference. Sometimes in order to get a good ground balance in bad ground you need to pump the coil at least 20-25 times. Also if there is a...

    V3i

@13rannon White's did not and would not "knowingly sell defective units". Current V3 owners do not have "broken/outdated" detectors - they will work just fine without the update. The V3i is NOT a "fix" - it is the addition of various features. Try and think of it as a V3 with enhancements...

    V3i

This is an UPGRADE NOT AN UPDATE - Our customers are under no obligation to get the UPGRADE. Plus, I don't know where you got your pricing info from but the MSRP V3/Vision has always been $1699.95. And regardless of msrp, once they purchase the product dealers are free to set their own prices...

    1st Post - 1st Find (kind-of) - Question

The Serial number that appears when you turn the unit on is the software serial number. The s/n on the warranty card and inside the battery compartment is the unit s/n. All new detector serial numbers are 11-digit numbers (xxxx - xxxx - xxx) - no letters. The Software serial number is used by...

    problems 5 inches plus

Hmmmm, Now that is not at all good....Houston we have a problem......Did you try it with another loop while you were at the park? I'm thinking something may have happened to the loop (erratic behavior and overloading on a quarter at 1"). However, if you get the same results from another coil...

    problems 5 inches plus

Hey there, Okay, talked with my guy - Here is what he suggested: Since the unit is working fine on quarters then that shows that the V3 is working OK.....he is swinging at the wrong swing speed for the filter he is using....or he has the recovery rate set too low with the wrong filter choice...

    problems 5 inches plus

Yes, I agree it is an assumption because he did not say in his original post when he purchased nor how much time he has had on his unit - In fact he only recently purchased his unit (Feb. 7 to be exact) - 9 times out of 10 the calls we receive regarding issues like these are from customers who...

    problems 5 inches plus

Hmmmm, I spoke with our tech about your situation. He said if it ID's correctly out of the ground but incorrectly in the ground it is most likely the soil conditions - even if in different areas. His suggestions: Try it in single freq, also if you can, go to another area out of town to see if...

    problems 5 inches plus

You say that your 5900 correctly ID's the penny - how many hours do you have on the 5900 - and how many hours do you have on your V3? You didn't mention whether or not you performed a manual ground balance. When doing tests I always recommend a manual ground balance. It is also recommended to...

The local dealer promotion sponsored by the White

Actually the promo is not everywhere in the US. It is not available through online factory sales nor is it available through Kellyco or non-participating distributors/dealers. It is being offered through Regional Distributors and Local Dealers who wish to participate. When the customer enters...

    I WANT A BIGGER BAG!

I do agree that is should be slightly larger because it was designed to hold the detector without breaking down the detector.

    I WANT A BIGGER BAG!

In the past we've suggested breaking it down. Just remove the lower rod and slide the coil toward the control box. Hope that helps.
