    how are your recommended settings with the 4x6 vs the 10dd? I did find in that brief test that I was able to run it up past recommended.........

    Thanks! Question, am I to expect a lower gain recommendation with a smaller coil? I did put it on and walk out in the yard to a bare spot and did a recommended gain test in the air and got 5 and then on the ground and got 4. 10"DD in the same spot gives me 15 in the air and 8 on the ground...

    My 4x6DD showed up today, extra rod and hardware, just in time for my Christmas present to myself. Now I just need to wait for the foot of snow to melt and the ground to thaw. :surrender:

    As a side note to Hang7575's comment about 22.5 freq for better depth for relics, I have found this not to be true doing live testing in the field with actual civil war targets. I have ran that frequency and when getting iffy targets have switched over to the 7.5 freq and gotten much more stable...

    Coil Question

    That and it seems like possibly the smaller coil was doing what it is supposed to do if it weeded the coins out of trash where the bigger coil wasn't picking them up. Thats kinda the point of a smaller coil. I'm waiting on my 4x6, been two weeks now since I sent for it, expecting it soon.

    ok, I think I've got it. So it would be like wanting to change your volume on your radio from 1 to 20. You can turn it there fast or turn it there slowly. Turning fast gives you no time to change your mind, turning it slowly allows you to change your mind in between.

    Using a higher ground filter will cost you depth without a doubt. How about your recovery speed? A fast recovery speed sacrifices depth also. Playing with my settings, the 10" deep penny in my yard does not read at all on the higher ground filter settings. Why do you need to adjust your ground...
