    Jewelry rings and things

I may have passed up some good targets today due to this. But I'd have gone crazy digging everything. On average had 3 targets per swing....

    todays V3 finds

actually, looking at the pictures more, it may have only been a water snake. But, it had a triangular head, was aggressive and there was no water nearby. Oh well, wasn't gonna take a DNA sample...

    todays V3 finds

Decided to change it up from my standard civil war relic hunting and visit an old abandoned house today that dates back probably into the 1800's. As suspected, ran into a HUGE amount of trash so I only dug high end VDI numbers. First hole held 3 wheat pennies years unknown and a '52 rosie...

    EMI and the V3

The only thing I haven't been able to adjust completely out yet is the pulse from an electric fence. Even worse in the mornings when the grass is damp, of course.

    EMI and the V3

I was referring to the emi noise coupled with the inability to turn down the volume in the post by nw1886. Having to listen to interference and at a louder than comfortable volume would be cumbersome to deal with. I'm familiar with the fixes with each new version, none of which help with EMI...

    EMI and the V3

Ah, so you're saying that the extra chatter will be easier to deal with because of the volume issue with the original software. Now I gotcha! :detecting:

    EMI and the V3

I don't believe there is any difference in the software versions that helps with EMI

That threw me initially too. I thought it was naval academy, but it wasn't. Back then the Army was referred to as the National Army. I never knew that! Thus the NA

    civil war

These are some bad pictures of one of the ww1 pins I found. The patterning behind the design on the front of the pin is the same and I would suspect the pin on the back is the same. I had also found one exactly like it other than the design on the front was a simple "US"

    PINPOINTING PROBLEM

Not to highjack the thread, but in reference to the above post by ak_1234 it was stated Is this possible even if the machine is running fairly quiet? I generally disregard the rx gain suggestion and run it up until I get just a tad bit of chatter. If I should be running it completely quiet...

I am by no means an expert. barely even a novice... but, the shape and background patterning remind me of two ww1 collar pins I found.

    New offer from White's

you had to send for this special. It seems to have been set up for people interested in buying the V3 more so than current owners.

    What causes....

hmm. not sure. I know I zeroed in the air to get my air reading...dont know about ground. I'm thinking I may have done it while it was on the ground. Never played with it before, will do it again tomorrow when I am home. I'm guessing I misunderstood the directions...

    What causes....

When I tested it in the air, I was out away from the buildings, etc. I had the gain at 15(sensitivity probe suggested while in the air), discrim at 85 and tx boost on. I do know the detector receives signals when I tap the coil. It with either give an audible signal with a +vdi or sometimes a...

    What causes....

I'm running the D2 coil and have dropped my ground filter to 5khz. I should have mentioned I had tried different filters in the scenarios above and found them to be worse, with my swing speed. On a opposite note, the penny I have buried in my yard at 10" comes up clean as a whistle with perfect...
