She's a little one, but she sure is pretty ...

1 silver, 2 wheats today. 2.75 hour hunt. I did manage to sneak out this little beauty 1903 Barber dime at around 8" deep today. Looks like she'll grade out between XF-40 and AU-50. Coin is nicer than pic indicates. Silver #58 for the year

a decoration for a horse saddle or horse reins, sort of like a fancy rivet. Anyone have any other ideas as to what this might be?

Found a cool silver relic today ...

This thing read 11" on the CTX. There were multiple targets on the screen but I kept on hearing that high pitched chirp in there among the iron. Started digging and pulled 2 HUGE nails out of hole at about 6" and 9". Re-scanned the hole and was now reading a solid 12-46 at 11" deep. About 10...

    2nd month finds with CTX

Howdy Gang: Well, I have just completed my second month of hunting with the CTX 3030. Before I give my totals, a few facts to keep in mind: I retired this past fall, so I have a lot more time to hunt. I live in a fairly populated county (1 million people), so hunted out city parks is where I...

My 25 cent depth enhancement for garrett propointer ...

many of you already know this trick: I used an "S" hook from my parts box (just closed up the gaps), a piece of a zip tie, and 15" of electrical tape and VIOLA (why is it spelled that way but pronounced WAH-LAH), a sliding adjustment to double the depth on my propointer

Bottle screw caps are my nemesis - Any advice to help ID them ...

Hi Gang: I seem to be a magnet for screw bottle caps. They often repeat from 2 angles. They usually TID around 12/36-38 for me and sound good to my ear so many times I think I may have an Indian Head. I use GoneHuntings settings. Do you switch to coin mode to verify the screw cap? Do you have a...
