Help-How do I prevent deselected VDI's from displaying in a search?

The visual reject only works when the Spectragraph is on. The audio should still be off for rejected VDI's though. Sometimes your target can change phase while the coil is getting closer to the target (ground will have an effect on the phase coming into the detector as the phase is not able to...

Help-How do I prevent deselected VDI's from displaying in a search?

Are you talking about the spectragraph graph, or the VDI number that gets displayed? Checking Visual Reject should keep the rejected VDI #'s from displaying. The spectragraph will still show the bars for the rejected VDIs though.

    about ground ballance

There's an option in the tracking live control or menu called track offset (not to be confused with frequency offset). Try adjusting it (most likely a positive number will give you what you want rather than negative) and see what the results are, When you do the ground balance routine, the...

    New on v3i

It sounds like your batteries aren't getting fully charged. Could be not a good contact with the charger, or could be the batteries themselves. When putting them in the charger, make sure they are seated well. Wait until the green LED comes on before taking them out. That should take a...

    Ground Balance

Rob, I think you just confused me. The connect sequence for connecting to a channel should be the same for any channel. (Set channel/power level/speaker options), press connect, then press and hold the WHP power/connect button. JimL, you said that you only hear one tada. Is it a taDA? Or a...

    Ground Balance

If you have your headphones and detector connected once, next time you turn them on, they should find each other. If that's not happening, what is your power level setting? Setting it to 3 should be fine and really not affect battery life that much. Something to try for right now anyway - if...

    New on v3i

If your battery is initially showing 11 volts, but after 2 hours drops down to 7 volts, sounds like you might have a battery issue. If you have TX boost running all the time, this can drive the battery down very quickly. But if running normal, it should not drop that fast. You should get...

    New on v3i

When you say you turn if off and on, do you mean turning the detector off and then on? Or the function itself? I'm a little confused what you mean: "I found from settings "standard, discriminate", and custom options it once it seemed to me it changed to what i wanted but when i turned it off...

Which the differences are between v3i and v3?

Oh, I automatically put the X in the V3 when reading the title reading it as VX3 rather than V3. Not sure if he meant VX3 or V3 here.

Which the differences are between v3i and v3?

Here's a good link that shows the differences: http://www.findmall.com/read.php?66,1497249 I got this from the reference links thread at the top of the page. Lots of good info linked there. There are a lot of settings that are fixed and can't be tweaked. That's been good for those that...

How long does the V3i need to ID a target?

Recovery delay is a discrimination mode setting. All metal will not be affected by it. If running mixed mode, the only time that RD affects your output is when the target signal is big enough to trigger the discrimination system.

:thumbup:Tell me about mixed mode please

Mixed mode (not stereo mixed mode), sounds all metal audio when the incoming signal is not strong enough to trigger the discrimination system. When the signal is strong enough to trigger the discrimination system (big enough to be seen as a target), then it kicks into the target audio...

How do stratified soil layers affect ground balance?

This. It's all it can do. The phase of the ground that it sees is what it will balance to. The layered ground will report back with a phase - it will be a combination of the 2 phases of the layered grounds if layer one isn't so thick that it has all the phase effect. Layer one may have one...

    Thank you Mary

You're only what, halfway across? OK, maybe a hair more. But the drive is gorgeous - at least once you get over here :-). (I haven't been much past the east side of the continental divide except by plane to DC in a previous life so I can't speak for that part of the drive).

Is it possible to speed up the fade rate in analize mode?

Short answer is no. The analyze mode captures all the data in a sweep before it displays it. The only way it knows when a sweep is done is if there was a target, and then there is no signal for a given amount of time. If you are getting constant targets, it will not have a chance to display...

    Speaker issue with v3i

That's odd. Enable is at the top of the wireless screen. When wireless is disabled, the Enable box (empty) is the only thing there. But, if enabled, the Enable box (checked) is at the top of the screen with all the other wireless options underneath and you should have been able to arrow up...

    Speaker issue with v3i

Sounds like he's using wired phones though. This is a function of the hardware - if the phone jack is making contact one way, phones are active (wired, not wireless), the other, the speaker is active. Checking the wireless enable selection is a good start though. I can think of one scenario...

Does anyone know if the V3 is a true Multi-frequency machine or is it a three frequency machine?

The transmit signal has the 3 frequencies combined. The return signal also has the 3 frequencies combined (physics). The return signal is then split into the 3 frequencies with the demodulation. It doesn't really matter - but that is how we do it. They are not separate - they are separated...

V3i: Menu > Sensitivity Setting > "Discrimination" and "All Metal"

These are sensitivity settings, not what will be discriminated (accepted/rejected). There's a signal that goes into the detector. When you are in discriminate audio mode, your disc sens will be the level at which the detector will start accepting the signal to be a target - so a setting of 0...
