    I'm probably gonna sell my Apex. It falses too much on deep targets. I dig several inches deep and there is never nothing there. The target id is rarely steady unless under 6" deep.

    Will use it mainly in tot lots. I see guys on Youtube hunting tot lots with $1200 Deus's. A $200 detector will find just about anything in a tot lot.

    Initial impressions and questions from a Newbie (using Ace Apex)

    Mine goes crazy near power lines in MF so I switch to 15khz and it calms down quiet. So far it has found my nicest sterling ring and my best Civil War button, CSA Block A.

    Fisher f19 for field hunting vs homesites

    A Fisher F19 is not heavy. Weighs about the same as my Apex 2.5 lbs. I could see where putting a large coil would off balance it. However there are some lighter ones such has the Nel Superfly that would probably work better.

    I have no problem with mine. In tot lots I run sens at 2-3 because I'm after shallow targets and don't want to pick up the deep stuff under the mats. I did some air test with the 8.5x11 and it surprised me in Pro mode MF I could hit nickels at 14", dimes at 12", quarters at 13". Seemed like MS...
