    No guarantee, but a Dental Prosthetic Technician could have used dental gold and made the pendant to look like a nugget. IF so, dental gold used to be ~18k, Hope you got lucky. Keep us posted.

    Fisher - yes. Simplex - no. Now, get well and get to swinging! ETA - for similar reasons, I've hung up my Etrac and switched to a Vanquish. Weight and simplicity were the main reasons....and I haven't regretted it.

    Except...after spending several hours/days/weeks/mos using the 'factory installed coins pattern' and finding less than expected...but always thinking 'another setting' (here a tweak/there a tweak) and the results would have been sooooo different...THUS the mystery setting (and the treasure)...

    I'm sorry and I don't wholly disagree with your premise (repeat hunting)...but it IS my definition of "frustration" IF I have to retrace my steps numerous times, change the settings AGAIN, then walk the same site I have already detected, AGAIN. THAT detector will find itself in the back corner...
