    Hunting fun..

To cool and windy here today to get out. Winds kicking up to 40 mph. Any day out finding anything is a good day. Going to get colder for the next week, snowing some now. :poop: :poop: 🥰

No Pinpoint Audio and bad time keeping on D2 running ver 2.0

Actually extremely low audio when pinpointing. Clock seems to change everytime I use the machine. A PIA as I already have trouble hearing without the Deus 2 adding to it.

Age of Armed Forces Signal Corps pin and other mysteries?

Type 3a 1937-1943 Screwback while the disc with raised edge would be 1926-1937 from what I can see in the pattern on the disc. I know that in 25 years of active army we would often salvage one piece of brass to fix another. As a sidenote the last brass they shows the disc is flat with a double...

Small park I’ve hit with D1,D2,Manticore hits more silver in a few hours !

I have zero experience with the Manticore so I can not speak for its capabilities. I use the D2 and would never say which is better. Have used the D2 for 2 years now and still learning it. I would be interested in trying the Manticore in locations I have hunted with the D2. Some nice finds for...

Age of Armed Forces Signal Corps pin and other mysteries?

There are no photos of the screw back on the insignia he found so that can not be determined. My id is based on it being one of the two raised rims. Just pointing out the way to tell which raised one is that older one has a concave screw button while the newer raised insignia has a flat based...

    My better finds from march

Great finds, what are you using for a detector down south of me? I will have to make one of my trips to the Waffle House across the border soon. They don't seem to like Mi

Research: got an hour or two to find someone a huntin spot

Explore and mess around with both. With CalTopo you can do overlays of old maps on current maps on Google Earth.

Age of Armed Forces Signal Corps pin and other mysteries?

1910-1926 screwback with a concave screwback, 1926-1937 screwback with a flatfaced screwback. Note that both are the textured brass with raised edge while the 37-43 is not textured, it is flat with no raised edge.

Good for you and good for her. By looking at the pic I think I see the real reason her hubby don't want her out roaming the parks and beach 🥰👯‍♀️🦊

Age of Armed Forces Signal Corps pin and other mysteries?

1910-1937 Signal Corp Brass; depends on the type of back attachment. https://www.germandaggers.com/Gallery/USCD.php Not a complete listing of all army brass but this one has what you have.. Nice finds.

    5 day hunt Illinois

Good sets, if I get into the heavy iron I find that taking the BC to 3 eliminates a lot of the odd shaped larger crap.

    5 day hunt Illinois

I usually go as long as it is about 45 degrees here, depends on the winds off the lake... Use the Deus 2 and was just wondering what base program you find using often. I tend to work with the standard Deus programs and adjust for the local soil/trash conditions..

    5 day hunt Illinois

Great finds. With those faring numbers I am curious as to what base program you are starting with? The soil conditions there can not be much different than here in SW Michigan. Also real cold here today, 18 degrees this morning...

    Saturday in the park..

IF the weather ever warms up here (without the high winds) I will be able to hit the parks again. I want to get to the large Zoo/Park in Grand Rapids before they pave over all of the green spaces. I remember going there as a 16 year old in the 60's for the annual carnival and I know that area of...

Curb stripping last couple of weekends

Dang, kick me to the curb:LOL:. Guess it would be good to check the curb strips at the old county park/zoo. I know it is old as there are old steping stones that were used to enter horse drawn buggies..
