    Check out the Minelab Vanquish 540 pro pack, it's a multi-frequeintcy detector that also performs great on the beach. Great detector for the money

    fixed ground balance on the vanquesh

    I recently bought a Minelab Vanquish 540 and I really like it. I have had zero issues with it not having GB. It goes deep. I can run it on full sensitivity our 1 notch down.

    Swing speed

    I'm looking forever to purchasing the 10" coil. From what I'm reading it doesn't lose much depth to the 12" yet it's better in moderately trash areas and less EMI prone.

    Yes I have done that. You know the only thing that worries me about the Vanquish is no GB but I believe from what I'm reading is that the multi-frequeintcy is very forgiving. Also with the pro pack I could always throw the 8" coil on, I hear that's better then the 12" in high mineralized soil.

    Good idea, will do. I been wanting to bury various coins at various depths to test the difference between my 8" and 12 coils using the Minelab Vanquish 540. With that said I'll test my swing speed as well...

    I'm currently using the Minelab Vanquish 540. When I get around to using the 8" coil, do I need to adjust my swing speed, slower or faster? Due to the weather I didn't get a chance to try the 8" coil, I'm an anxious to try it out.

    I recently bought the Minelab Vanquish 540 and really like it. I only used it a few times before the weather shut me down. Haven’t tried the 8” coil, did you give that coil a shot yet. Was there much difference between the 10” and 12”coil, like depth, less noise etc
