Cz...... (Still my go to detector)

Question. I've never owned a CZ or any Fisher for that matter but I sometimes hunt with a friend who will use one of the analog CZ's at times. I've noticed he will eat my lunch on nickels. My theory is that when the analogs were designed there were not at many types of tabs plus most folks...

ID normalization do you ever turn it off?

If I am strictly coin hunting run norm off with two programs at different frequencies. Invaluable for eliminating rusty steel caps or working around steel fences. If hunting relics or jewelry not as important because I am generally digging most signals.

    Just ordered my XP Deus

About seven years ago I let a dealer talk me into getting a Deus sight unseen which I never do. Its now my go to machine. IMO most versatile of of all the machines for different type of hunting. A little higher learning curve so yea cleaner sights first like a yard where you can open w/o...

    Nice find and different

Nice Todd. Last saw you was in Gettysburg. Thought I had silver ring last week at one of my new sites but was a silver tie threader for a neck tie. Don't know about a deep cooper program. Everytime I get a really deep copper signal its usually a deep O-ring. Only beef on the Deus is no read...

    Elliptical coil

I have 4 different coils and run the elip more than any other. Even on 28khz is very deep on coins and is great on gold and midranges. But a low kfz elip coil would be nice if you could norm off in the trashy sites which you can't do with the HFs.

    Iron wrap around

Thanks yall. Already use notch sparingly but got used to using iron wrap on CTX which gives better low conductive deep #s but also falses more. Will try w/o and see what I find.

    Iron wrap around

What is your opinion on notching the last two or so digits for wrap around? I generally do this and to be honest when I haven't it turns out to be a rusty cap at about 12 inches. But I have begun to rethink this because the Deus tends to not give a VDI the deeper it is. Also the depth indicator...

why no Gold with my detector?

One day I had just started hunting in a park with my CTX(the etracs 1st cousin) The first time I set it down I got a signal. OK this is either a nickel or a tab. Nope. Men's 14K wedding band. I've found a few gold rings with all of my machines and I am planning to gravitate more to jewelry...

    Question about EMI

What frequency are you running on the ORX? I use the Deus and a kfz of about 28 should eliminate emi and is still great on coins or relics.

Any new, news on the Multi-frequency machine ??

I actually talked to a dealer this week about the new model. I was actually talking more about my Simplex because I'm not in the market for a new machine now but brought it up because some folks are saying its a SMF like my Deus. It's not. Its strickly a multi freq machine like the half of the...

    Simplex +

Did my first hunt with the Simplex last week and these were some observations. Bought it primarily for the water but did a short coin dig. For the price a nice machine. Small piece of silver jewelry and fair amount of clad. With the elip coil can really manouver around trashy areas. Half the...

    Hunting by tones alone

As long as your breaks are set right I would not think of using anything but them. I tried for awhile running w/o the remote mounted because if you can see the number before you dig it might cause you to skip a good tone that doesnt have a good number when the number might have been...

    FINDS

Summertime and the digging aint easy especially in the south. So I thought I would post some crazy finds of late from the might Deus. Forgive me if posted twice My pc skills are a work in progress. I was digging in an old park when I found this silver quarter. My first idea was that it had...

Coming to the End of the Road

Gee, I'm gonna have to seek forgiveness for health complaining. My biggest problem is neuropathy in my feet from chemo which makes me prone to falling over when I'm on the ground. I assume you have a long handle shovel thats made for Mding. Yea a little heavier but you have something to hold...

A walk around a LL field.

I will go out with a friend who will sometimes bring his analog. He will eat my lunch on nickels. I believe it is because at the time there were fewer tabs so the analogs had a narrower range for nickels. I would redo and dig all nickel signals.

Looking for gold rings in the park

A lot of valuable rings and jewelry are silver and thats how I hunt so I'm going to use the word jewelry. 2tone, 28kfz notch 0-46, 69-78, 97-99. I use the Elip hp but other ok at 28. I know this may raise some eyebrows at first but this is my reasoning. My mom was a big ring and jewelry...

equinox 600 or 800 for small gold jewelry?

Digger what kfz do you run. My deus is super on most gold at 28 but struggles on the really small chain until I run 70. It will blast you out then but also picks up the really small Aluminum which can be notched at 28. thanks

    hunting partners...

I started this when I was just a kid, introduced a good buddy to MDing shortly thereafter and he's still the only partner I usually hunt with because our friendship is more important than what each other finds. I used to do a good CW site that always yielded something and the owner was generous...
