    Need some thoughts

    I am detecting an old ghost town and the trash is so thick the detector is in a constant nulling ( no threshold at all) I can throw down a quarter and it cannot pick it up. So I know I am missing good targets. Any thoughts? Or is it a hopeless case?

    Mizar 24 gold testers

    I am wondering how many detectorists there are that have an Mizar 24 gold tester and what the reliability of the M 24's are for testing gold rings etc. The acid testing method I am sure is reliable but the acids get costly when they have to replaced every year.

    Aliumnum disc

    I have seen this some where before but for got if I ever knew what it is, so need some help. It is a flat smooth aluminum thin disc the size of a quarter with a Y punched out of the middle of it. No other id marks anywhere. Any help? Randy
