Has anyone dealt with the "buttondigger" from Canada?

Apparently there are two "buttondiggers". While the "orginal" buttondigger (George, here in the USA) has a great rep, I can't find anything on the one from Canada. ANY info would be helpful. Email is easiest: lgeguzis@kcsd.us Thanks in advance, Tagamet (Larry)

    Another mystery coin

This almost seems like a joke, but are there two headed coins? I found one today that is about the size of a half dollar and on both sides there is a man's head in profile facing to the left. It's not totally clean yet, but I don't want to damage it. The patina looks like it's copper and *part*...

    Pinpointing with the WOT coil?

Well, I for one am exhausted. I went out after work today to try out the WOT coil on my Expolorer II and dug some holes large enough to hold several folding chairs and a small child. The site is a good spot, but REALLY trashy. I had been picking away with the 5 inch coil and getting clad coins...

Looking for opinions on mid size DD coils

Hi, I'm relatively new to using an Explorer II, but love the machine. I have a 5 inch Excellerator coil and a 15 inch WOT coil, but the stock coil went nuts and needs to be replaced. I'm just asking for opinions on which mid-sized colis people like, and why. Something in the 8 to 12 inch range...

    Advice for newbie freshwater searcher

Our streams/rivers all seem to have fist size rocks and larger. Even wading in water where I can touch the bottom, how do you get a hold of the targets? OBVIOUSLY I've never tried this before, but I do now have a Minelab Excalubur and live right ON a river, so this summer I'm set to go. I'm also...

    Bibliotherapy for fresh water searching?

I'm about to spend some time shifting my focus from land searching to water searching. I (hopefully) have an Excalubur 1000 being delivered tomorrow. I also have an Explorer 2. I'm located in an area of central PennA that has a very rich history, right on the West Branch of the Susquehanna...

    Ferrous tones vs Conductivity

I see/read that a lot of people prefer to hunt in ferrous tones as opposed to conductivity. To a returning newbie, it "feels" like having a high tone based on conductivity would be intuitively better than a tone based on what I'm trying to aviod (iron). Can someone please try to help me wrap my...

Can I use an Explorer 2

at the shore (ocean)? I've used it a LITTLE at a freshwater beach (on both wet and dry sand) and it worked great. But I'm wondering if using it at the seashore (even on dry sand) will harm it due to the ubiquitous salt and sand. I have an Excalibur winging it's way from Florida (thanks Chuck)...

FS C$ with 8 and 10 inch coils mounting plate

I need to accumulate some additional cash in hopes of buying a new or used Minelab Excalibur. I bought the C$ from Big Red (I think), and used it quite a bit myself. So it's obviously used, but works like new. If anything was going to go wrong with it, it would have likely done so by now. It has...
