    Latest permission

On a hunch, I asked permission for a field that had two rises in the earth. None of the historical maps show that a homestead existed in this field, but I've found a lot of relics that indicate habitation of some sort. Maybe an undocumented picnic grove? The following pictures show the better...

Just Arrived, my new Deus 2. Can’t wait to hit the beach.

Run the frequency scan as I'm sure you already know, but you can also mitigate the noise by notching out 98-99. That will get rid of about 40-50% of the irritating chatter. You could drop down to 97-99 and reduce it even more, but you will be in dangerous territory for notching large silver...

More gold another class ring 1948 and a V nickel

Jealousy makes it hard for me to convey congratulations for a great hunt.:ROFLMAO: Well done Mark.

    Gold went over $2900.00 today

Just a thought.... If you aren't tight on money, it might be prudent to keep some of that gold around. There might come a time when you need that physical gold or silver to barter with. At least, that's what I'm doing. Worst that can happen is my kids inherit my collection when I die and that...

True story George Washington protected by God

So true, I knew this story for many years. Every once in a while, I get to share it. Thanks for the video, now I can link to someone with way more gravitas than me.

    Flat button enigma?

I'm not so sure. The back indicates brass or bronze. It is definitely plated; in this case I think silver plate.

    My Program

You know Mark, I don't recall checking my 1oz gold eagles when I had them available. Have you had a chance to check any large gold coins or 1oz ingots?

    Deus 2 - Vdi scale

Flintstone was commenting about digging foil and pull tabs which are the bane of those looking for gold jewelry. Since foil and pull tabs are always found in parks, sports fields, schools, and beaches, etc. It's not hard to extrapolate that he wants to dig jewelry without digging pull tabs and...

    Deus 2 - Vdi scale

At no time have I replied to the OP's post, only the people who have posted follow up comments. My last post was in response to Flintstone to let him know that the Deus-2 has a lot of what he is seeking in a detector. To answer your post, I would say ferrous normally runs 5 and under with the...

    Deus 2 - Vdi scale

The Deus-2 is SMF (Simultaneous Multi-Frequency) 4-40KHz. It's also got a TID scale of 0-100. If you are looking for gold rings, you're going to dig pull tabs. Otherwise, you can cherry pick coins and silver jewelry with great success.

Thanks for the link Jon, put it in my favorites.

    Anybody Ever Try This???

There are much better people than me to accurately answer your question, but I suspect they dismissed it altogether so I will attempt to explain what happens. A splitter cable to add 2 coils wouldn't work on a wired detector because the impedance of 2 coils would be halved if wired in parallel...

Yet you did reply. You're not very mature when you lose an argument.

    Deus 2 - Vdi scale

I wasn't saying it was relevant to the OP's post; I was pointing out that it is still a relevant term, not Passe as you implied (VDI is an old Whites term). Then you went right on to define the VDI detector, which is exactly what I did, albeit my post required a bit of reading comprehension...

    Deus 2 - Vdi scale

VDI (Visual Display Indicator) is still a relevant term that describes the type of detector, differentiating it from the beep and dig variety.

Need help identifying this small horse shoe.

Could it be a decorative "good luck" shoe that people used to hang over their entry door?

    deus one an deus two

I have no experience with the Orx, but from what I've read, it seems like it is a Deus-1 without extra bells and whistles. Unless you are looking for the extra customizability, you probably won't notice any significant advantages to the upgrade.

    deus one an deus two

There are certain detecting conditions where I don't think there is a serious advantage to having a D2 over a D1. But if you ever plan to work highly mineralized soil or saltwater beaches, then the D2 is your choice. Based on my limited testing, the D2 does seem to ID better at depth and offers...

Deepest program for XP deus 2

For the D1 and most likely D2 in mono, 4khz is best for raw depth on high conductors like copper or silver coin sized targets If you want to find deep non-ferrous low conductors like gold, platinum, nickel, or lead, then 12-18KHz is best. 12KHz is a good compromise for both high and low...

How many hours would you guess this coil has been used.

Fortunate for you the seller didn't replace the coil cover with a new one.
