Feels like the very first time!

Neil... Now that you have had a back to back comparison what are the differences you are seeing between the "other" detector and your new v3i? By the way the clad looks like it has been in the ground for some time, and everyone missed it....:detecting: When are we going to get to see some...

V3i replacement, Whites are the greatest

6 times back?????? Sounds like you had some sort of problem that could not be diagnosed. Some machines just dont work for some people. The universe can be very complimented sometimes. This can be no fault of the machine or the operator, hence why some users prefer different brands or different...

    10x12 sef (white) received. WOW!

Thats a tough lesson.... I found my only seated dime at a depth of less than 3", it may have been 1". I was night hunting and loading my finds into a pouch and didnt know till I got home.

    problem vx3

Black or white coil? The black ones often dont work right. The white ones are designed to work with the "V" series and should. Send it back if its bad.

12x10 SEF arruves Wen. look for advice

The first thing you do is make sure the coil is good. I just had a forum member send me one to check for him (for free) and the coil was produced out of null. He tried to fix it be reattaching the plug end but the coil itself is the problem and thats all encased in epoxy. It is limited to a gain...

    V3i's first cellar hole hunt.

Nice large cent, theres probably some more coins there. I think I would hunt it till there wasnt another positive vdi left.

    Whites V3i and silver.......

Awesome finds... I love the fact that you have a picture of all you undesirable targets. I neglect putting those pictures up and I really should. That looks like some really awesome hunting ground and you are doing a great job of rescuing the keepers. :drinking::beers:

Half day hunt a token, pocket watch, 10 wheats, war nickle 12x15 sef

The pocket watch is toast, we averaged 45" of rain a year for quite a few decades. I hit the watch while digging it and water leaked out. I still need to open it up and look for engraving. Its really interesting to see all these old deep targets come out of the ground below 12". Its as if...

Half day hunt a token, pocket watch, 10 wheats, war nickle 12x15 sef

I had some limited success with the d2, it was extremely sensitive to everything. I hunt really trashy sites and it would find everything no matter the size. I dont like to find things that are not coin size or larger. The SEF goes a bit deeper and has a larger knife blade like responding zone...

Half day hunt a token, pocket watch, 10 wheats, war nickle 12x15 sef

The SEF 12x15 once again entirely impressed me. Running a gain of 6 in Mixed mode stereo I found this pocket watch at an unbelievable 16" in our hunted to death school field. The war nickle was a solid 10" down and rang up solid. The wheats where at a depth of 4-9" and I almost always knew they...

    I Did It!

To cool....I love hearing stories like that. On a side note, I would think that big ring would ring up 35+ in the 7.5 frequency.

    Coming back to the V3i!

How come that song...."Reunited and it feels so right" is playing in my head? I am sure it will be just like riding a bike, you never forget it. There is another saying, it may be from Whites? "Once you go black, you'll always come back":ninja:

    Very erratic ID

Have you made sure you coil is good? Hold it waist high in a Low EMI area and turn up the gain to 15 and see if it overloads?

    10x12 WHITE SEF COIL PROBLEM

First off... Who did you buy it from? I received 4-5 bad ones new, back when they first came out. However.... There should be a coil cover on the bottom of it and these tend to fill with water and mud and can cause bad coil issues. You will need to gently remove this coil cover by prying...

10x12 sef failed, then repaired and gets me 8 wheats and merc

I guess the title says it all. My SEF coil has been acting up and I thought it was just a little corrosion on the box connector. Well it was shorting out somewhere and finally went out completely. Before it gave up it was not getting hardly any depth and was really quiet, 2" of depth on a...
