    EclipseDD question

This is one of the many reasons that I recommend Whites detectors to anyone that asks me what detector to purchase. I hope with their increased online sales and exposure that we will see them have more funds for research and development. It is quite amazing that they still have a detector that...

    anything better than 10x12 coil?

Good job.... I used hot glue to keep the wires secure. That second picture shows the obvious path of each lead. Mine has hot glue on it and it was not easy to make out the 2nd white conductor and I still cant see it. Mine will fail just like your with time, but we know how to fix it.

    anything better than 10x12 coil?

No it looks perfectly normal.... I have one right here in front of me and it is wired correctly. The one grey wire running single strand gets split and soldered to 2 tabs. The other grey wire with black lead goes to 2 separate tabs. Everything is wired correctly and it was working until the...

    anything better than 10x12 coil?

The number 3 being cut is normal. Do you have a volt meter? You need to check continuity between you solder points and your plug end with numbered female connectors. If its not there than its a broken wire. If you have a solder gun its an easy fix. Since you take such good pictures, can...

    anything better than 10x12 coil?

With the silicone removed you should be able to hook the coil up and isolate the problem. You need to determine if it is the plug or a broken wire under the insulation. Does it still overload with all wires separated? What are its symptoms now?

3 silver day for me....pretty happy. Using the 12x15 sef

My wife, buddy and myself went out today and hit the beach. Not much there but I scored a folding knife at a couple inches down, it gave me an overload. Got tired of not finding much and went to the local park where I found this Nike ring. Couple of inches down and I thought it was a quarter...

    anything better than 10x12 coil?

Do any of your other coils have this problem at the box? What does the other side look like of the above picture? I have had to fix a couple of them now.

    White's V3 Question

Is it a vx3 or a v3 that is upgradable to a v3i? The 950 coil comes stock on the vx3, pretty big difference in detectors.

    I encourage posts

No one wants to see my mountains of zincolns and clad..... Well maybe they do. I have 10 pounds of buckles and suspender bits along with relics I never bother posting. The silver skunked me this weekend but it was only a 3 hour hunt, hunting buddy had a shooting match to help organize.

    Mixed Mode Pro

Yep, this is probably the problem.... The wireless headphones are so nice. I hit a park today that had dog poop every 10 feet and I was sure glad I didnt have a headphone cord dragging around with me:look:

Sound vs VDI, which do you prefer

You are doing fine with dimes at 9"...... That is excellent depth. If you want to use audio as your primary for searching I would recommend mixed mode stereo. You will get ferrous in one ear and and positive vdi's in the other ear. In clean areas that little growl or ferrous purr causes me to...

    10X12 SEF coil

I tell you, when I got my 12x15 it made all my fields like new hunting ground. Even in the trashy areas it ignored the small iron bits and saw dime size high conductors on up and ignored most of the small stuff. Schools and parks seem like no one has ever detected them before when I use the...

    4 hour relic hunt

Awesome hunt.... Whats the date on the dime? I can make out 187? . I would hunt that place til there wasnt a single positive vdi left, including those I thought where false positives.
