I am finally convinced the V3i is worth every penny

Wait till you start swinging real slow with a bigger coil in mixed mode stereo. You will be shocked at all the targets people have left behind. What is a person supposed to do with all the old wheat pennies? I have piles of them.

    2nd go around

You have to try mixed mode stereo in those iron infested areas. Pick single frequency 7.5 and you will be digging all day in those areas you thought nothing was left at. It has brought all my hunted out sites back to life. Throw on a 8x6 sef and start finding all the masked items, including...

    new v3i user

Rx8 is pretty hot for detecting and will see quarters at 8" no problem. I normally hunt with the gain in the 5-7 range, anything higher in town and I see diminishing returns. I hunt really trashy places. The all metal channel and the disc channel are separate and I run the all metal hot for...

    I love it....:clapping:

How is the V3i Relic hunting?

Ive got over 1000 hours with mine. Its the boss.... If you check my posts you will see plenty of finds that attest to what this detector is capable of. There is not a better overall detector for relic hunting. It locks on to midconductors like no other detector I have used. I was...

    Doing well with my V3i

With time the pinpointing will become clearer to you. You will get an idea as to what the target is by the VDI number and then in pinpoint you will be able to trace the target to exact center using the probable frequency paired to that VDI range of known targets.

    Latest finds...GOLD

Fantastic..... The v3i sure sniffs out those small low conductors. Nice hunting, from the looks of it I better start digging them real low ones at the schools.

You have a bad coil with 100% certainty.

You need to take the detector into an area of low EMI and turn the gain up. Does the coil overload in the air? We have to make sure everything is working properly and that you dont have a bad coil.

    V3i Wireless Headphone Problem

Mine did the popping at the worst possible time making me jump out of my skin.... They do it once every 200 hrs or so now. I think its the devil....:yikes: I didnt change anything that I know of it just kinda went away, I did however clean up all my ground wires and reset all my ribbon cables...

    Culpepper VA. - Red Dirt

I got spencer .58 caliber ringtail drop, here in Northern California, it "vdi" at 74 at 12" good and solid. Once disturbed and out of its halo it has a vdi of 55-63 depending on orientation. I also found a .63 caliber round ball and that "vdi" in the 50-55 range and was only a couple inches...

    Favorite Silver Coin...

Thats got to be one of my favorite coin designs and I have only found one. Nice find. I know you like the toning, but if you ever get tired of it. I use a little lemon juice and aluminum foil. I just sandwich the foil around the coin and add sufficient lemon juice to saturate it. I then pinch...

    new v3i user

Congratulations you have purchased the overall best performing machine ever produced.:clapping: The biggest problem new users have is EMI. Start buy using a stock coin and jewelery program and learn to identify EMI. Turn it on in your house and turn the gain up till it starts to give you a...

    1st time out

My first large copper slug found with my v3i got me a English large cent and Whites gave me $100 for the story and pic. I didnt know what it was until it got some cleaning. Your in a great area when you start finding little charms like that. I am sure gold is on your horizon.

Lets get things honest and straight here.

Thank you for that Larry. In the UK, I would then most definitely recommend the v3i with the utmost certainty. I routinely find those itty bitty levis rivets made of copper at 4-6" and the propointer wont detect them at greater than a half inch away. I would recommend a 10x12 sef for the coil...

    pin pointer interference

To many variables to determine without being there. Is the gain and disc up higher than usual? Is it much warmer than your past hunts? Are you sure its the pinpointer causing interference? Has the pinpointer started to act erratic such as a shift in null?

Lets get things honest and straight here.

I may have to buy a ctx3030 and put this all to rest for myself and whoever else needs to know. I am aware that the ctx3030 may get up to 2" more depth on silver coins using a comparable coil than the v3i, in certain conditions. I think most people need more than one detector.

Lets get things honest and straight here.

If you do a little research on the SE you will find that it uses a different frequency algorithm and sampling when compared to the FSB etrac/ctx technology. It is to this day, said by many, to be the deepest coin getter ever made by Minelab. So if the v3i is being compared to that I would...

V3i and 12x15 sef gets me a deep seated 1854 quarter!!!!!

I am so happy , I finally got another seated. This quarter was a solid 9" down and in an area full of trash from an old building that burned down. It has been hunted since the 70's and has given up plenty of Mercs and Barbers but I have never, ever, heard of a seated being pulled out of the...
