Another few hours snorkeling with the Scuba Tector today at the same beach as last hunt. No gold but there was still plenty of goodies.

Back to the lake once more before the season ends.

Went hunting with the Scuba Tector, wearing the full face snorkeling mask at a lake in Raleigh today. Toward the very end of the hunting day, BOOM. Patience and perseverance paid off! A gold wedding band, 6 grams of 14K. All the finds today were done by feel as visibility was only inches...

Scuba Tector finds at lake today

Reid and I finally went to a swim beach in Raleigh today. Here is what we found with the Scuba Tector. Nice pink ice ring, silver diamond (fake I am sure) earring and a Mexican coin. The gold still eludes me. The beach was packed, so I had kids jumping around me, spraying me with water...

How old is this Dr Pepper and what may it be worth?

I found this DR Pepper bottle and was wondering how old it might be and how much it is worth to a collector? On the bottom is: Duraglas 6-2870; 3, a symbol and 51; on the front is a 10, a 2 and the 4 on the bottom. Thanks a lot.

I think this may be civil war....does anyone know calibur or have ideas?

I hope this does not break the rule about asking questions. My friend's are very excited about her daughter's first real finds with her detector. My friend took her daughter in town here for one of her first times hunting with a metal detector. General Sherman passed through town after the...

OK my fellow CW relic hunters....what kind of weapon did this come from?

I have a friend who took her daughter in town here for one of her first times hunting with a metal detector. General Sherman passed through town after the battle of Bentonville. I am not real good at identifying projectiles. Can someone share any possibilities of this musketball that she...

Scuba Tector finds at lake today

Trip with the Scuba Tector to the lake today. I think they have added more sand to the beach since the last time I was there. No many signals and just fresh drops. Still no gold. It remains elusive. Fun snorkeling anyway though visibility was a mere 6 inches. Had to do all by feel.

3rd time out with the Scuba Tector.

My 3rd time out with the Scuba Tector. Take home was 11 quarters, a $1 coin (mixed in with the quarters), 8 nickels, 3 dimes, 12 pennies, 5 rings (one is hidden under the silver-looking ring), and some other odds and ends. Not bad, but the gold and silver still elude me. One day, but not...

Trowel mod for use with Scuba Tector

I bought a hand trowel at Lowe's and drilled holes in it. This will be added to my Scuba Tector beach snorkeling expeditions. Much easier than digging with my fingers in the sand underwater!

    Scuba Tector finds today.

My second time out with the Scuba Tector today at a lake swimming area. Coupled with a full face snorkel mask, this is proving to be a deadly combo. Very happy with this detector. I have not found gold yet, but it is just a matter of time.

    Scuba Tector finds yesterday

I bought a full face snorkeling mask and the Scuba Tector. I was finally able to get out to a swimming beach in the Raleigh area. I had 3 1/2 hrs of solid snorkeling/detecting with no breaks. Visibility was about 1 foot. I had a blast and although I found no rings, it is just a matter of...

    CTX 3030 at Myrtle Beach

Just returned from 3 days at Myrtle. I did not have my detector with me but when I see someone out detecting, I always try to stop and say hello to the detectorist. When I was at the boardwalk, I saw a gentleman detecting and went to say hello. His name was Terry King swinging a 3030 with a...

    1887 TP tag

I found this tag in Millard, Nebraska when I was a teen in about 1978. It is about as thick as a dime. It was found in a friend's front yard of a home built in the 50's or so and about 1/4 block from the original RR tracks that run through Millard. I have had some suggest that this is from...

Some interesting finds from old home location

I found these where an old house once stood in the Goldsboro, NC city limits. I am wondering if the large chunk of rectangular lead may have been used by CW troops to make bullets. All of these items found where a Union camp was located.
