OBN, What is the gold count this year??

It can vary, 1 to 5 gold is normal but I have had one spot in 2019 which was more than a mile walk that gave up 35 gold, in 13 hunts, in 30 days... Great was, I had made friends with one of the locals one day coming out of the water ....only to find out we were good friends from the 80's. Now...

OBN, What is the gold count this year??

It is for sure, and a word of wisdom. You find a good one....... don't let it rest.

OBN, What is the gold count this year??

Thanks WW! Never really kept track of the hours but from 2015 to 2020 I did keep detailed records of the (gold found) hunts, Pictures, video tides/winds/location/temps but not the hours............ most of my hunts last 4 hours, tides are coming in, I'm done. I guess the only goals I set over...

OBN, What is the gold count this year??

Thanks for asking...I've taken off the last 22 months? and just started getting wet 4 weeks ago, think I've been out 7 times now with 3 gold rings. Not much to show yet. Maybe come the end of the year I'll have a better count. The last 22 months had a few health issues (Hopefully over now) and...

First time Water detecting. 10 cents richer.

I hunt old beaches, 99% of the time. Like said above, location/location/location. Lots of pictures more than likely they have been hammered. Only one way to deal with it, go hunt, not just once but often. Learn them like the back of your hand that way when something changes you know. On the...

Most Hated Words for a beach detectorist....

So they say, I got my senior park pass to one of the local fresh drop beaches so I hope to add that to the mix with the older beaches I hunt. I really don't expect much since I was told the jelly fish have been a problem.

Most Hated Words for a beach detectorist....

Yes, wetsuits and gloves work great. It the bathers who are wearing the gold that they are keeping out of the water. Yesterday the jelly fish were not as bad so I took off my wetsuit top and wore my long sleeve nylon shirt, I could feel them thru that but not full strength..more like a tingling...

Most Hated Words for a beach detectorist....

This time of year seems the worst word in the Chesapeake Bay is..Jelly Fish. The bathers are going into the water and coming right back out for they are getting stung. As a hunter you cover every inch of your body from sun and those little guys, I've heard finds of any kind are way down. Since...

    Fisher Fisher Impulse-AQ

I think this one is still using the original Potentiometers, but I did hear possible big changes are being worked on? Now which......... and if any will make it into our hands is the Big Question. I'm just glad I snagged a second unit for my clock is ticking and I don't see anything coming out...

    Fisher Fisher Impulse-AQ

Love my AQ's but I would not recommend the current model due to poor battery life. Hopefully in the future we will see the next generation which offers drop in batteries and run time of 5.5 hours. Performance is about the same, very deep. As far as the discrimination side, which I rarely use, it...

How many remember the very first detector you started the hobby with and how long ago ??

1993? I had a chance to snag a Whites SurfMaster PI 1000, had it for a few months..got out a few times, only found trash in the bay. Sold it, Work, divorce, to busy with life to get into hunting. 2007 Explorer XS, a close friend I worked with kept talking about detecting so I picked up a...

That last video............ is the video that got Max into doing video's ...I did that video of him the summer of 2009.. His note back was "I Like It" I had just started beach detecting in 2008 and figured the best way to learn, was to watch some of the best. I learned more from the five I...

Good to see another AQ out and about! I think you did great first trip out! As you get more time in it does get easier, what helped me TONS was testing at home and at the beach. Settings, different targets.. surroundings, on the beach, air testing..anytime spent testing is time learning Also...

JW Fisher 4 foot wide coil with 6x or 8x

Big coil like that your going to get some big stuff deep. I would almost bet it would miss a gold ring specially if it is a smaller design.
