What happened to the Vista X Faceplate & Knobs?

Any time you go through such a dramatic revision, of different parts, or anything, everything goes through engineering, and through a material review board, before a production change is implemented. In this way all things get considered, before the wheel gets turning again. Of course this is a...

What happened to the Vista X Faceplate & Knobs?

Anyone else get one like the bottom picture, or does yours look like the picture at the top? I guess if it doesn't bother you, you could at least take a White paint pen a color in the line on your Knobs so you can see the settings. If you're like me, and got one that looks like the bottom...

What happened to the Vista X Faceplate & Knobs?

The Vista X is a spectacular detector, as a lot of us know, having the ability to hit non-ferrous targets out of a pile of nails, and other iron, but the appearance of the detector, at least the latest ones, including the one I received, looks nothing compared to what's advertised. The Faceplate...

    Golden Mask

Instead of Golden Mask, it should be called Golden Unmask. 😁 I finally figured out the settings on the Vista X to where it will hit a Nickel surrounded by old square nails. Something that my other high end detectors couldn't touch, even with all the bells and whistles. I still use a SMF at the...

    Sovereign battery

If it's a dead duck and it's been that way for a while, yes it can damage it. If say the battery is 12V, 1500 mAh, and you have a smart charger to where you have a pot dial to control the amperage, and a power source of 13.8 VDC, you have to hit it hard at 1.5 amps for an hour, watch the...

Anybody using the New Gold Hound for Relic Hunting

"In Memory of Monte", God bless him, as he was an encyclopedia of information, and a great person. He will be terribly missed.

    Beep And Dig Detectors

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to getting my Vista X, so I can hunt those iron infested areas that my digital detectors can't touch. It will open a brand new door. My Deus 1 has a gold max mode on it, but I'm not sure that the performance is the same, as I have never used a XP XP Gold Maxx...

    Vista X Batteries

Yeah, I just couldn't find any Li-Ion batteries that had any good reviews. Seems that they loose their mAh, and full charging ability after several cycles, to where they'll become useless. That's crazy, because I know people that have Lithium Polymer batteries for Radio Control cars that are...

    Vista X Batteries

So, Richard@BackwoodsDetectors said: Jeff, the working voltage of the Vista X is 9.6 - 13 vdc.. Richard. That means that the EBL's, or any NIMH battery at 9.6V ( 1.2V x 8 ) are good to go. If that's the case you probably won't notice any advantage running a 1.5 V Li-ion higher capacity mA/hour...

    Vista X Batteries

Richard@BackwoodsDetectors said: I use good AA batteries.. The detector has a voltage regulator that drops the detector to a lower voltage so that the 12vdc is a good surplus.. Let me contact the factory and see what they say about the lithium batteries... too much could damage the...

    Vista X Batteries

Actually, no. I've either had detectors that had internal rechargeable batteries, or like the Sovereign, I just bought Energizer Alkaline AA batteries, or used a new rechargeable battery pack on it. Seems like 9.6V might not produce the same performance as if your batteries produced 12V. I have...

    Vista X Batteries

I know that a lot of you prefer the Enloop NiMH rechargeable batteries, but those only produce 1.2 VDC, at 2550 mAh. Has anyone tried the Li-ion 1.5 VDC batteries, at 3000 mAh? Seems that the higher voltage might produce a little better performance, same as using an alkaline 1.5 V battery. Just...

    Vista X Batteries

That's what I'm thinking. The 8" Concentric, and definitely the Super Six Coil. The 5.7" would be good for very tight places, or a really bad complete bed of iron, trash, and nails. Picture of the Super Six. From what I've heard of it's performance, you might not ever take it off.

MINELAB Manticore Unmasking And Recovery Performance

Yeah the Vista X is an interesting analog detector that uses AA batteries. Of course I would run Lithium ion rechargeables. My only turn off is I can't believe that they put two toggle switches on the bottom, instead of just one well placed one, in the perfect location, like they had on the...
