    3rd hunt with new Manticore

Yes, I can see the iron and the good target, Iron generally smearing down from the top and the good target nice tight ball on the conductive line further to the right (high TID). It would be great if the screen could show relative position of the targets but no joy on that front. I run low and...

    3rd hunt with new Manticore

Have you experienced any pinpointing issues? In my old park covered with nails (I sometime pull 3 rusted nails or bits) from a hole and am having a difficult time with the accurate pinpointing of the good masked targets. I dig where it appears to be, only to find the iron, then re-sweep and the...

    Gratifying Sunday Hunt

I bought the 9" and love it. It goes on my machines when I have relativery clean ground to hunt. Very light. It doesn't have the separation of the M8 tho and so right now it hasn't been on my machine much as I am working a small 30ftx 50ft patch of ground with alot of old rusted nails mostly...

    3rd hunt with new Manticore

I have done. The only thing I noticed when doing so is that targets disappear. I think the issue is there are so many nails co-located that they are pulling the position of the good target away from where it really is.... I am not against lower sensitivity, I have been running it soft (ie 20-25)...

    3rd hunt with new Manticore

I have recently been running the "freestyle" program settings, I am impressed with its ability to handle high sensitivity settings in iron infested sites. I have an 1840's park I hunt that has been pounded since the days of the first metal detectors and so good targets are few and far between...

    Backpack for the minelab Manticore

I am looking also, One option I looked at is a softside tactical multi-rifle drag bag. Many have the main compartment seperated by a layer of material so I was thinking about detector on one side, spare coils/rods on the other. Many models have molle straps and/or built in pouches on the...

    New Manticore Settings

Start with All Terrain General, noise cancel, ground balance and let the fun begin... it has great startup parameters for park coin/jewelry... I ran it there for the first 5 hours or so, then began tinkering a bit. It works great, this forum has lots of great input to help you as you get...

    Is this a geode?

Looks like petrified wood, maybe a tree branch, all the geodes I have seen are crystaline interiors, but not a rock collector so there could be variations....

    Question??

I love my M9, light and effective. I switch to the M8 in heavy trash and think it will be great when I get around to nugget hunting, not looking back any longer.
