    I had to buy my XTP from Cabelas .....I found it to be a very nice and stable machine, and really good at pinpointing but overall I still like my simplex better and am selling the XTP so there is no conflict as which machine to use today. The VDI is very similar to the simplex too.

    18K Gold Ring

    It's official, I took the ring to our local jewelry store and they were able to see the band is marked 18K HGE. I was not able to spot those letter's but they're the pro's. I learned HGE is Heavy Gold Electroplate. The lady wished me better luck next time.

    Thanks for your comment DD. I don't have enough experience or confidence to mess around with the setting on these machines. I'm a believer in " if it aint broke, don't fix it." I'd enhance it if I could or tweak it if I thought I knew what I was doing...smiles.

    My Legend is running 1.07, but I have only used it once and it seems to be fine. Would anyone care to share a really good reason to update from a version that seems to be functioning properly? I mean is a higher version going to provide my legend more depth or better stability or more...

    Your right.....it doesn't really make sense to buy another detector when I have two of the best out there for my personal needs. Not counting my Silver Sabre, the Vanquish 540, my At Pro etc....smiles.
