My most interesting find to date

If there is a farm field on the property, it might also be worth hunting.

    Big Coils and Coin Depth.

I have a Nel 12" X 13" Tornado coil that I purchased in 2019. The mistake I made when I first started hunting with it is that I thought I was going to suddenly start finding coins 3" or more deeper than the F75 factory coil. The actual added depth is more like 3/4" to 1". As we all know this can...

Any difference between the regular 1266x and 1266x XB ?

I used a 1266X with the spider coil for many years. In Al Metal mode it will match the newer detectors of today. It is a great coin finder and while running in the All Metal mode it is an excellent relic machine.

My best find in my own backyard

Nice find and right in your own backyard. You have an advantage living on the west coast in that you are near the San Francisco mint. I'm sure there are a lot more "S" mintmark in your part of the country. Most silver coins that are dug here in the midwest come out of the ground untarnished like...

    Sun Glare

    That's a good point.

    Sun Glare

I use a dust cover on my detector when detecting. It's great for protecting the screen, but on sunny days it can reflect the sun and make it quite difficult to see the numbers while swinging the detector. Has anyone experienced this issue and found a fix.

Enjoy that SLQ find, they don't come along that nice very often.

    Silver everyday for 5 days

Nice Hunting. The wooded parks are good for finding small patches of ground that have been overlooked.

Seated and Others / Old Pin & Jewelry

Whenever I see multiple dimes found without a few quarters, it is a good indication to me that they came from hard hit areas that were deep or masked and missed by other hunters. Nice hunting.

First hunt from 1762 Salt Box permission

The 1875 CC has the mintmark below the bow. It must be a little more rarer than the above bow type because it catalogs a little higher. Very nice find. Also the Washington quarter looks like a 1932. If it is mint marked with a D, it is the key coin of the set.

    Back to the hobby

It has many options in Disc. and All Metal. I like the 2 Tones with 0 Disc.

    Back to the hobby

Great detector. Have you used the F75 in the past?

Revisit to an old house site today....

That's a nice triple Merc day, and a few wheats too. Good call on the small coil.

    One of our hunts

Nice hunt. The reins guide (terret) and bells are great finds.

Back to same park and one I hunted a lot for a dime trifecta today.

A silver dime trifecta is a rare feat these days. Great hunt.

    Not detecting but still finding!

You'll be back to detecting by the time they get that out.

    pi pinpointers

I have a Teknetics Tek-Point and a Fisher F-Pulse. I use the Tek-Point as my main pinpointer because it seems a "bit" more stable than the Fisher F-Pulse. It also has less cross talk with the F 75. They are essentially the same pinpointer. The depth is the same on both.

    First merc
