Thank you! I think they are talented, but I am a little biased…

    Pumpkin carving

Happy Halloween all! My kids and I carved these pumpkins this year. My daughter did Stitch Elvis, my son did Prince John, and I did Davy Jones. I hope they bring you some enjoyment!

    As long as it’s producing, I’ll keep milking… 😁

Update #2 - I’d like to put in my two cents worth…

OK, at this point in time admittedly it’s more than two cents. I headed back to the site where I found an 1866 two cent piece in excellent condition, along with an 1831 large cent, an 1853 seated dime, a 1918 Merc, a 1919 wheat and a 1929 wheat. My son came with me for one short trip (I’ve...

    Help ID

Look closely for any air bubbles inside of it. If you see any, it’s glass. If you don’t see any, it’s still likely glass, but there would be a couple other possibilities depending on where it is from. Do you see any fractures inside of it and have any chips been knocked off of the surface? If...

Old tag, any ideas on the symbol?

You wouldn’t happen to be in the vicinity of the Avondale or Avoca coal mines? Those were listed in some reports in the late 1800s. There was also a Valley Camp coal company in the report from 1931 to the 1940s.

Found my first gold coin and some other goodies last week in England

Out of curiosity, you wouldn’t happen to remember how it rang up?

Short hunt yields two half dollars!

That was probably the best order to find them in…😁

First field hunt of the year

Nice finds! I especially like the Indian. I take it the jar has a metal ring? Is the jar alabaster, ceramic, or glass? It is nice to be able to get out and actually dig again without having to chip through the dirt.

Update - I’d like to put in my two cents worth…

OK, I don’t know if there’s a way to mark a post title as updated, so I’m just creating a new post. After getting a privately made remote holder for my D2 to replace the stock mount which broke, I was eager to head to the field and test it out. Which field to head to? Of course I went to the...

    Well, it finally happened…

As many other people have reported, my remote started falling off the factory mount on the shaft. I had been trying to baby it along, but simply pressing buttons would cause it to tip back and fall off. I have had a lanyard attached to it and looped around the shaft so when it would fall off...

I’d like to put in my two cents worth…

Thanks! I foresee digging a lot of questionable targets in that area just to clear out the interference and see if there’s anything else good hiding.

I hope you find one too!

I had a fun outing today....

The silver ring is a nice reward for the amount of digging you must have done. That is quite a pile of coins!

I’d like to put in my two cents worth…

Thank you! Any other old coins I have let dry out for a few days, and then carefully clean off the caked dirt and sometimes a thin crust layer casing the actual surface of the coin using a cleaning pencil kit like Andre’s Crayons. In this case, it was only dirt on the coin. I had no fear just...
