    DEUS 1 VS. DEUS 2

    Not sure depth is the best criteria to base the decision on. The D2 has a lot of improvements. In my experience, the D2 has much improved unmasking as well as a bit more depth especially in the fast programs. The Relic program is crazy deep, though.

    XP D2 depth

    The D2 Relic Mode is crazy deep. I’ve also been impressed with the depth of even the fast modes. I use a Fast mode modified to three tones and tone breaks and I’ve pulled Indians from 8 inches in the midst of nails and farm iron. I attached an 1867 I found yesterday.

    Just XP, no Deus for me.

    My brother has an ORX and does quite well with it. I've used it a bit and it's very much like a Deus 1. Its limitation is that it only has 3 tones and you can't modify the tone breaks.

    I don’t recall there ever being this much discussion about this with the Deus 1. I had it for 5 years and never had a problem. So far no issues with the Deus 2 either. It seems to stay put fine.

    Sort of related… I seem to have trouble getting the remote to snap on firmly, more so than with my Deus 1. You have to line it up just right or it won’t attach correct and could easily fall off.

    I used to update my Deus with my laptop all the time. As long as it has a USB port it doesn’t matter whether it’s a desktop or laptop. Speaking of which, Rogue, maybe you have an older PC with a USB 1 or 2 port? Those older versions may not work. Just a thought.

    Yes I tried that. I've tried having the pinpointing auto on and off. The screaming audio is just so bad. I'm going to try to make a video of it.
