    Only thing I can suggest is maybe a ring made from a nut. A guy I used to work with was in the navy and said they made them out of stainless steel nuts.

    Ted, is this with the 900? I’m still running the 800, and like you, I seldom change settings. Things are slow around here too… I have found 4 silver coins, and clad is diminishing in my sites where they usually replenish from year to year. Not sure what you are asking… is the detector unstable...

    To save you some time, I tried this test with my 800; XTP, and XTerra 50 and got the same results as you showed in your video… I plan to try this with a couple beep dig detectors too when I get a chance.

    This issue is pretty interesting. Some time ago, I took a quart jar filled with clad…. Mostly quarters and tested it with my 800….i was quite shocked at the results….standing upright or laying on it’s side really made little difference… it read around 12 om my detector…. Not at all what I expected.

    Equinox 900 readings

    Just curious how it responds to nickels? I used one for a short time, but do not recall pennies giving the high signals you mentioned. As far as nickels, I found the TID to jump around quite a bit…. Much more than my 800 anyhow.
