    1851 Infantry

Nice. Now oil it. I spray it down with a good penetrating oil. Put it in a baggie. Spray more in. Let it soak for weeks. I have a decent largy in a bag for years now. No more oxidation. I always carry baggies/separated of coins to any new site. Tune my detector on ground I'm hoping to find those...

I need some help on this bayonet....

As nice as it is. Could it be a first reproduction ? Like late 1800'$ when collecting desires were really taking off. Either way. I'd love to find that. Though finding myself frozen on top of some mountain holding a 50 lb gold nugget would be Nice too.

Explorer xs,message battery flat on shutdown

Have you cleaned the contacts ? Springs and battery tabs ? I use Peavey guitar contact cleaner. At any music store. Spray. Gently rub with a pencil eraser. Wipe and blow dry. I believe they'll have canned air. Low pressure around 10-15 psi on an air compressor would work too. Will not damage any...

Explorer xs,message battery flat on shutdown

You sure the batteries don't have a bad cell. Even new ones do that sometimes. Had that years ago. Batteries tested at proper voltage. Though under load. Detector on. They went instantly flat. When batteries are that low the machine gets funky. Any place near by who rebuilds battery packs. I...

Man those are incredible finds. Congratulations. Love to see a cut like that up here on the lakes. Years ago on lake Erie we had a noreaster come thru. Produced 20-30" cut. My best day coin shooting ever. 26 silvers from the 50's.

    Drone photography.

Cool. I'd be going in at low tide detecting. Around the old docks and loading un loading areas. Where any merchants money exchanged hands. Don't forget on many detectors. Gold at depth usually comes in around the top of iron signals. And commonly a 1-10 at low end of conductive.

Like I said before. You have the coolest history over there. Ever go detecting there ? Could dig up some awesome history.

I'm thinking tracers as well. Maybe they were pulled. Not sure about the material inside. Not all tracers a phosphorus. Most are a color pyrotechnics composition. Little info on phosphorus in water.
