    Many great recommendations from the posters above. I will add that if you plan on hunting on salt beaches then you should highly consider a multifrequency detector that is also fully submersible.

    Try cleaning your battery terminals with a little vinegar and rinse with a dash of water. QTips work good for this.

    Red Clay

    I use the legend in Alabama and the ground around here is red clay. I have no issues with the Legend.

    Got two permissions.

    The penny in the bottle with the note is really cool. Maybe the dad or mom had a little treasure hunt for their kids. Who knows. I like finding interesting things like that. Good luck at the 1880 home.
