This is the sequel to Post #8. Boy, we Southerners were so proud of Confederate Veterans that we waited until 1899 to give this Southern Cross of Honor award to vets before they died off. This is about the same time statues started popping up in every Southern city. There's a lesson here...

Back on the river 19 silvers! Lots of barbers! Dime trifecta!

Research is a good start to a great hunt. Well done. I see that you found some musket balls. Are you finding other relics?

Forward or backwards, the states are indeed, not united.

CTX 3030 with small, medium, and large coils. Small being the go-to on most occasions.

Found my second Thimble! Same home!

That's some nice relics. I love the tiny padlock. The thimble is unusual, which is good.

This is the sequel to Post #7. Pic 1 is the second half of the finds from Post #7. The swastika on the heart is definitely a good luck symbol. I really like the elaborate winding key above the stubby key. The brass rectangle, bottom right, is a 1st place award for Bantam Weight Motorcycle. One...

This is the sequel to Post #6. Pic 1 is from another week of after work hunts while out of town. I remember the ground being like concrete here: Ulyssus S. Grant token, 1929D Merc, another Merry Widows container, I don't know whether the swastika lid is for good luck or Nazi. Pic 2 is from my...

This is the sequel to Post #5. Pic 1 This shows finds from one of my old reliable sites. I find things there every time. It's all mixed in with square nails, bottle caps, and scrap metal going down to about 8". One of the lead seals is from the International & Great Northern Railway. The "ice"...

Thanks. I actually do like photography. I try to use some of my finds in my artsy pics.

    Found Aggie ring returned today.

Those rings mean a lot to every Aggie I've ever known, including my oldest daughter and son-in-law. Excellent work.

You have to stay on top of those street tear-outs. It's a lot of ground to cover, but I take it nice and slow.

The usual places: curb strips, vacant lots, construction sites, old parks. I usually see the holes and trash dug by other detectorists. It's annoying.

This is the sequel to Post #4. Pic 1 is some finds from a construction site. Pic 2 is from a trip to the Gulf Coast: 1889 V nickel, early Great Seal cuff button, silver Roosevelt, large brooch. Pic 3 is a different site near the coast: lead fire hydrant, post office box key, 1934D wheat. Pic 4...

Sequel to Post #3. Pic 1 is from an area that always produces great stuff: My favorite is the 1894 Cotton Palace pendant/fob from Waco, Tx. It's still crisp and clear. The St. Peter's drink token is awesome and I still need to research that and the Flatonia, Tx. token. I posted a pic of the...

This is what keeps me in shape. I don't enjoy sitting still, so I chase grandkids, kayak, hunt for treasure, etc.

Yes, lots of limestone at this site that is not good to silver that's been in the ground for decades. It was completely covered, so I hit it with electrolysis several times.
