This is the sequel to Post #8. Boy, we Southerners were so proud of Confederate Veterans that we waited until 1899 to give this Southern Cross of Honor award to vets before they died off. This is about the same time statues started popping up in every Southern city. There's a lesson here somewhere. I digress. Also found the Sterling ring, with 1 stone left. The Weingartens trade check is from a grocer in Houston, Est. 1901. 1911D and 1930S wheats, Model T grease cap, and stone door knob. Pic 2 & 3 came from one site: worn 1892 Barber quarter, 1916 French coin, 1929D Buffalo, the 3rd 1911D wheat within the last year, a carved 1916 Merc (better not be 1916D!), 1940 dog license, an Oddfellows medallion with chain, a swirly doll's teacup, and a pocket full of marbles. This gets me to May 2022. The next installment will include the apex of my 45 yr. detectorist distraction. Stay tuned.
