    New site

A good friend that does excavating that knows a lot of big farmers in a couple counties north of me has hooked me up with a bunch of new house sites to hunt. Now the race is on to get them hunted before they get planted. This site was on the 1865 and 1874 atlas but gone by 1909. The only trash...

    Settings

Having used the Deus2 for about a year now and trying all the factory programs and settings that people on YouTube have posted I‘ve had limited success hunting all my old house sites that I’ve been hunting for more than twenty years with 5 different Minelabs and a Fisher F75. A while back I...

    Tool

Definitely a tool for clamping on to something.

    Several hunts Deus 2

Trying to stay ahead of the planters at some of my old house sites. Had a ball the last couple weeks learning the new machine and found a few coins that were missed with all the Minelabs. Just my opinion but I think the 2 has way better target ID especially on the deep targets.

    Indian Half Cent

Used the D2 in my oldest house site today , the buckle was folded completely shut and started to crack when I opened it up so I leave it as is. First indIan half cent I’ve found. Have hunted this site since 2006 and is laden with iron, signals are few and far between. The D2 really brought it...

    Couple hunts

Starting to catch on to the faint deep signals. Higher tones has made it easier for my poor hearing to hear the really deep ones. Finds from yesterday and today from really hammered sites I’ve hunted for years.

    A few keepers

I think these were on the edge of detection, barely a whisper of a signal. Nice to see a shiny rim in the bottom of the hole.

    Big Silver

First silver with the Deus 1, tried a one room school near by and got up next to the foundation that was loaded with iron. Using the 9 in round HF coil was able to find a few keepers.

    Same old sites

With all the physical ailments the CTX is just too heavy for me to use so I’ve started using the XP Deus. I bought it for my wife about 5 years ago and she lost interest quickly because of all the iron she was digging and I did the same for the first 3 or 4 times I tried it before understanding...

    Beanfield Finds

Two days of hunting in a newly picked bean field. Found the large cent yesterday and the rest today. Digging in the rock hard ground was a real chore.

    Another House Site

Got to hunt another old house site in a cornfield today but unfortunately the weeds were so high I could only hunt in a few areas. Planting has been held off because of all the rain, but the weeds are doing quite well. At least the bean stubble will be better this fall to hunt in. Think this...

    Easter Hunt

Had a good day hunting a couple old house sites in a corn field. Was able to run the Ranger up and down the corn rows and flatten them down to cover more ground. The debris field is about 200 yards long and 100 yards wide, these coins came from what I believe to be the front yard. 1851 large...

    Winter hunt

Got to hunt this house site one day last week and for a while this morning. Except for the holes filling with water as i dug them I had a ball. Hope the weather last's a little longer like this with a little less rain. Still struggling with getting the pictures from my phone downsized to the...

    Found Some Oldies

Darrelld and I went back to the yard that I got the silver from last week and got some oldies finally. The large cent and Speil Mark were in the same hole just a few feet from where I got the 1860 Indian. Darrel got a Indian and Merc along with some Wheaties and a cool luggage tag. We'll be...

    Big One

Cant remember when I posted last but its been way to long. Don't think I even hunted last year because of back issues but after successful back surgery in April I'm almost back to normal. DarrellD and I was suppose to hunt this yard last fall but I couldn't get him out of the deer stands...

    Big Silver

First post of the year for me. Just haven't taken the time to get out this year. Hit some new house sites that turned out to be duds earlier in the year and just couldn't get in gear. The farmer I mostly hunt on called to say he would be planting one of the old sites we have beat into oblivion...

    Still Learning

Went out early before things heated up and hit a hillside for a couple hours that skunked me the last couple hunts. I think the CTX hit's harder on deep silver than detectors in the past. Beginning to get an ear for the deep ones.

    Impressed and dissapointed!

Really impressed with the CTX. Went to the hardest hit park that I know of, it's where I found my first Injun in the early 70's with the Whites Coinmaster 2 and in the same spot that it came from I found the 83 Injun today. ( I think I posted the same thing with the Etrac a few years back.) All...
