Starting to get fed up with V3i.... when on beach

Hi Rob, I'm glad to hear your opinion on the Minelab and V3i. That makes me feel a bit better. I live in Myrtle Beach SC. Technically Garden City, I also just added to the first post about the stripping of the beach if that tells you anything. Ferd

Starting to get fed up with V3i.... when on beach

Now let me state, that I love my V3i (most of the time). But it seems most people use their V3i for relic hunting and only a few for beach hunting. Most times at the beach I have NO problems. I get out on the beach, ground balance and off I go. BUT sometimes, like the past few days. My V3i just...

    v3i salt beach problems!?

I currently have correlate on. So I will perform these tests next trip to the beach. Which will be in the next day or two, and post back. But currently, on wet sand a quarter will read between 80 to 85 when more than 4" deep. On dry sand it will be a perfect 83 every time. BUT when you pinpoint...

    v3i salt beach problems!?

Hi Kyledfx, I am still new to metal detecting being involved in it for just over a year now. I started with the V3i and have made over 90 beach hunts (I mainly beach hunt). Copper or Zinc Pennies ?

Hi Rob, Yea I thought about it after I posted. I forgot to mention that it also hit 48 a few times on the VDI. From what I have gotten use to here at this beach. I just didn't know. I have also learned to sweep over the deeper targets every few scoops, because the VDI will keep changing. Ferd

    Copper or Zinc Pennies ?

Thanks Hunt4fun, I dig up everything at the beach. I figure it is the only way to really learn the detector. I am still new to MD so I have no previous detector to compare with. I can call any coin usually along with bottle caps and pull tabs. I hate when I know its a bottle cap or pulltab but...

    Copper or Zinc Pennies ?

Thank you Rob and Hunt4fun, for the info and a good laugh. That would also explain what was driving me crazy the other day. I was hunting a fresh cut at the beach and dug up more than a few pennies that I was expecting to be dimes. I also dug up a lot of dimes, a lot, and a good bit of those...
