Dug some more with my new Nexus today.

Capphd, I've been watching your videos. Can you tell us a little more about the machines discrimination capabilities. I've got an old park I love to hunt in but it's loaded with zincs and screw caps Can the machine discriminate out higher conductors like these. Thanks. HH

40 years. (not long enough). Started when I was 21 but gave it up a few years. Bad Mistake !

Thanks Waterdog, I've been wondering about that.

    Antenna set up

I bought the shorter antenna wire. Just about 4 wraps andI'm done. I hated the long one. No problems with water hunting. with the antenna wire, the machine performs great with it.

You tube is a bad influence!

Odanscoils, I got the 9" coil and I love it. It's a great wet and dry sand machine . I can run it in beach mode with 99. sensitivity in salt water and it's very stable and hits very deep targets. It has a few problems but only in the water. I can hit a good target in the water and if I...

D2 antenna better than d1 antenna?

I'm using the D2 with short antenna wire. I've had no problems and I've water hunted all summer with it. I'm hunting knee deep to shoulder deep water . It's a really fine water machine so far . I can run the sensitivity up to 99 and it gets great depth with the 9" coil. I've got a 900...

    LEAKING NOX 800

I would take another 800 into the water. The 900 is a different story. I've used mine on and off in the water all summer. It is a really fine machine and hasn't leaked.

Most Hated Words for a beach detectorist....

I checked with 4 cal pawn shops recently. None of them will buy them anymore. One shop had a sign up " we only buy gold and silver, no tungsten or stainless". The market is flooded with them.

    minelabs bad decision on coils

I couldn't agree more. I figure this is the Minelab strategy to sell more coils.

XP Deus 2 coils 11 inch or 13 inch preferred

I have the 9" also. Personally I don't like anything over 11". Over 11 and they start to feel awkward to me.

Everyone is talking about “Full tones”. How about the interpretation of the other audio options??

I think I've seen and heard enough to dissuade me from the upgrade. V.71 is working just fine for me.

    Equinox 900 on the way

The more I use mine the more I like it
  13. R

So I bought an Equinox 900

Park 1 with 5 tones is a very good setup .

    9" coil or another machine?

If you can afford it I'd buy a 900 and a 5X10 Coiltek coil for it. Very good set up and a 6" coil comes with the 900.

    Equinox 700/900 ergonomics

Absolutely . I always thought the 800 was very nose heavy.

    Upgrade to the Deus 2?

    Exactly the way I feel.

    Equinox 900 and silver!

Nice finds, what coil are you using?
  18. R

    New coil

I'm using both and I think they are both great. I guess if I had to choose I'd take the Coiltek with a little more coverage. They are both very good in heavy trash.
  19. R

    Equinox 900. My first impressions.

Its a great coil. A little more coverage than the 6" but still has great separation.

    Equinox 900. My first impressions.

I've been taking my 900 to the trashiest (pull tab filled) parks I can find. I using Park 1 and I'm using the 10x5 Coiltek coil. I'm running recovery speed around 6-7 and I'm pulling a lot of coins out of all those tabs. No EMI problems yet. 5 tones and it will really let you know when you...
