    I found a Charles Garrett token in one of my detector parts boxes so I decided to attach it to one of his best detectors, I think it looks good on there and pays a little homage to the founder of a great company. : )

    Looks like melted aluminum, anywhere people build camp fires you will find that stuff, it is the bane of many a beach detectorist who dig it up all the time. That's what it looks like anyway. : )

    I found one like that a few years ago, It was also stamped, I think it was plated in gold at one time but over the years in the ground the gold plating wore off of it. I guess you could call it counterfeit maybe, I don't know but mine wasn't gold.
