Back on the Dredged beach for gold and big silver!

Great job! That gold ring given its condition must have been in there for 100+ years. It is happy it has been saved, finally. Nothing worse than being lost forever.

Feast your eyes on this one boys!

Nothing better than researching an important find. Well, except for FINDING the important find.

    APPLE I PHONES

Yes, I charge and look for Emergency contact info. If all else fails, take it to the nearest police station. All the phones can be tracked now and when an owner sees it is at a police station they are more likely to contact them for its return.

Got on the local beach for some silver

Beach with real potential. I really like such rock beaches and have several broken sand scoops to prove it. They have been very productive for me and there is no doubt gold is nearby for you.

    Very Old Silver Half Dollar!

Looks like a punched die cancellation. It might be a cancelled trial piece. very interesting find.

    CS4pi

Really interested in the CS4pi and hope it works so thanks. Yea, coil covers suck, esp if you water hunt and sand and water get inside cover and move causing increased noise and reduced target signal to noise ratio.

Different Perspective – 20 Gold Rings of Yesteryear Equal to One Today!

I really like the analogy of life being like a roll of toilet paper; and yes indeed going faster and faster. As a matter of fact, have to go back to the bathroom righ tnow and watch time fly!

    Silver Sarbe 2

Coil won't make a difference but bigger is better for beach hunting. The Silver Sabre is a older single VLF detector running at 12khz, so dry sand only as RichW stated. Machine will get very chatty in salt water wet sand and don't even try in salt water. But, still a good solid machine for...

    CS4pi

At about $525, it will be interesting to see if the CS5PI gets any traction. Add tariffs and shipping perhaps $700 all in? Can't wait to see what the PI hunters think...

IMPORTANT NOTICE: March is Wear Your Bling to the Beach Month

As a dedicated metal detectorist, I encourage fellow MDers to pass the word along that March is “Wear Your Bling to the Beach Month”, via Facebook, X, Bluesky, whatever means and media possible. Lets work together to make March a banner month for finding gold on the beach! OK, I just made the...

Different Perspective – 20 Gold Rings of Yesteryear Equal to One Today!

Oldbeechnut, I do believe that pic with the 51 gold rings is the one I saw years ago and, of course, it really stuck!!! Thanks, and again, greast conversation. PS Most gold rings in a day for me is three.

    NOX VIDs for Gold Rings

My 4 Equinox 800s were wonderful, except in the water where I drowned 2. But the 800s found lots of rings. Moved on to the Manticore with 15" coil and the 800 with 15" coil is backup machine.

    NOX VIDs for Gold Rings

I took this pic a few years ago and thought my Equinox 800 friends might enjoy. Picture shows found gold rings with weight and Nox VID. Enjoy. I have this on a graph, somewhere, if found I'll post here. Happy Hunting

Different Perspective – 20 Gold Rings of Yesteryear Equal to One Today!

Love to hear about "The Good Olde Times" metal detecting. I started in the early 70s when I sold a $20.00 gold piece for $50.00 (that's right Fifty dollars!) to buy my first detector, all I remember is that it was a Whites. Never did find much with it and school and work got in the way for the...

Target in Pull-tab zone, but this is Ridiculous

Wearing one on the beach would remind people of all the pull-tabs (and other garbage) we MDers remove from the beach each and every day....Hhhhmmm..As many pull-tabs as I find, I could start a side business making pull-tab necklaces and even pull-tab bracelets. There is obvious demand. That...

Different Perspective – 20 Gold Rings of Yesteryear Equal to One Today!

If you have been detecting for a while, say since the 1970s, or if you’ve read a lot about old time metal detecting, you know of or have heard stories about MDers going out and finding 10, 20 even 30 gold rings in a single outing. I recall one post of a frame with 56 (?) gold rings found by an...

    Manticore coil screw

I also find the Mantilower shaft screw loosening over time. I really worry about the sharf ears breaking like the coil ears do so ofen; repaired CTX 3030 ears, Equinox ears and, well, the Manti coil doesn't have ears but the Manti shaft does...the way I abuse...errr...use metal detectors I'm...

    Interesting pendant find.

Truly a fantastic find. I hunt the east and west coasts of Florida and would give any of my many gold rings to find a treasure like that.
