    Donna, not a beach hunter but having used the 900 for a year and half and now the Manticore for a little over a year IMHO do yourself a favor and go with a Manticore. Again just my 2 cents.

    Unfortunately no. I've only dug one 1916 and that was worn so thin you could barely see the year, forget about a mint mark. I did get a beautiful 1923 w/ full split bands in an old coin spill (same park ) a few years back. The dateless SLQ in the pic is a Type 1.

    Ted, I would think once all NDAs are lifted Jeff M will do one. He has a good amount of time with the Manticore and being a tester then an end user his assessment IMO would be pretty accurate. And yes, they all do look alike. Are you considering one ? :unsure:

    OH, If you haven't decided yet. The Legend 2 has been released. Its in the same price range as the 900. The Legend is a solid machine and the sounds as if the L2 is even better. I would hold off and see what the testers have to say, then choose. Good luck. Sorry if I pinched the thread.

    Ted, that absolutely makes sense. ROI would most likely not be there. plus limited hunting due to whatever, weather, permissions or health related issues makes it seem like is another purchase really worth it ?Unless there is something truly ground breaking the Manticore will be my last...
