A WIN WIN FOR ME & WIFEY…A BIG LOSS FOR A JEWELRY STORE

Wife & I went down to the beach for 3 nights last week so I could hunt after the nor'easter. I started getting sick Tues morning before leaving for the trip down, sinus infection & bronchitis, so was feeling pretty wiped when I hit the beach on Weds. I saw same as you, no cuts, entire beach...

For those about to Rock…a nor’easter!

Well, hurricane Erin turned out to be a depositor, not the stripper I had hoped for. Let's hope this nor'easter works some magic. Won't know until I get there what the conditions look like, so whatever my plan is right now, that can change quickly based of what I have to work with. Still...

For those about to Rock…a nor’easter!

Thanks Matt. A buddy who lives down at the beaches I'll be hunting told me the storm is supposed to strip the dry down to hard pan, totally pulling out all the replenishment sand. If that's the case, then any targets that were lying in dry and/or replenishment sand should be pulled down to the...

For those about to Rock…a nor’easter!

For those of you on the East Coast planning to rock the beach after the coming nor’easter, I’d like to get your opinions. I was fortunate to book a 3-night stay at the beach just after the nor’easter, so I’ll have 2 days to hunt. I’ll be taking my Dual Field PI and my BBS SMF Sovereign Elite...

gold Monster 2000- dual PI and multi freq announced

Right there with ya Donna. I have a severe allergy to aquatic creatures with razor sharp teeth, lol. Would be different if I was in FL's clear waters where I could see what's swimming around, but like your beaches in NJ, beaches in MD & DE have dark/murky water, so once about a foot deep, I...

Seems there’s no stopping Silver & Gold!

Hang on to your Silver & Gold rings & bling guys & gals, prices have been rising steadily almost every day. Silver is currently at $49.42/oz. It passed $49/oz briefly on Monday, and as usual, the price has been doing the up & down dance for the last 2 days. After dropping a dollar or so...

    New Minelab Monster Coming?

I totally agree. They don't have to reinvent the wheel. Just take a wheel they already have and reconfigure it a little for us Beach/Shallow water hunters.

    New Minelab Monster Coming?

I found some information on another forum, seems lots of guys there know about this coming detector, all at least had some knowledge. But it's not gonna be waterproof, has a tiny coil for chasing nuggets and once again, it's designed for gold/nugget hunters, not us beach/shallow water hunters...

    New Minelab Monster Coming?

Well, looks like my wishful thinking was short lived, as I found a promotional video for Minelab’s new Gold Monster 2000, another nugget buster. Apparently, this one will use a combination of VLF SMF & PI technology...

    New Minelab Monster Coming?

Was just checking my emails and noticed one from Minelab. Clicked to open and there was this pic inside. I clicked the pic and it led to a video short. The Monster is Coming Minelab has the Gold Monster 1000, which is a 45 kHz VLF, so not sure if this new Monster is gonna be VLF or PI. Would...

I gotta give a huge shout-out to VA beach Max and Felix who helped me.............

Yes indeed, very cool! That was so nice of Max to send that to you. We have a lot of great guys/gals in our community. I previously posted about this in a few forums, but I recently finished putting together my first PI (Franken DuFi). I had the Dual Field control box & coil, but needed a shaft...

I gotta give a huge shout-out to VA beach Max and Felix who helped me.............

Glad he was able to help you out Mark, that was so cool of Max!! How is it made? I was only able to make a guess based on the videos I posted. Is it a hook riveted to a harder piece that's then riveted to a piece of leather or some type of softer fabric material for the belt to go through?

    xp deus 2 water hunting

I'll second AirForceMike & ColonelDan. Tony recently built me a custom set of his Diver's waterproof headphones with enhanced impedance matching circuitry for my Dual Field PI. He's a great guy, build's uber quality, extremely comfortable phones and ships quickly. He doesn't have a website...

Made my own Coil “Cover” for the Dual Field’s 12” Spider Coil

Yes, I'm in the U.S. and can get Plasti Dip at Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware, or just order from them and have delivered. I like the yellow 12" spider coil on my Dual Field, as the waters here in MD & DE are dark & murky, so once you get about a foot deep, can't see your feet, which means you...

Made my own Coil “Cover” for the Dual Field’s 12” Spider Coil

Thanks Tony, I'll have to look into the tin. Probably would be a lot neater to apply since no overspray, and like you said, I can add it on thicker than with spray, as I typically need to spray at least 3 coats. Do you happen to know if Plasti Dip comes in yellow by any chance?
  17. Sand Sifter

Does anyone here remember a guy named VA beach Max, or grave digger Max from another forum ??

I agree tvr, here's mine. I used Plasti Dip black on my RTG scoop about 14 years ago, before I had heard of anyone else spraying their scoops handle. I also used black Plasti Dip on the bottom of my Sovereign's SEF coils and just sprayed the bottom of my 12" Spider Coil on my Dual Field PI...

Another one bites the dust, RIP MD-Hunter Blog

Hmmm, maybe all is not lost with MD-Hunter after all. At the bottom of their R.I.P. announcement is this: Respect for NOKTA MAKRO Україна (I unlinked this just in case, so it would conform with any forum rules about linking to other sites). I didn't know what that meant so I clicked on that...
