    Is beginners' luck really possible?

My Son is not into detecting but lives in an area with revolutionary and civil war battles. So, when I went to visit him, I took both D1 and D2 with me to NC. We couldn't get into contact with the owner to detect a farm field that was near a battle, so we went to a sports field to do some...

Have a Question for everyone about Deus internal batteries.

I have a D1 11" coil that is over 11yrs old. Still holds a decent charge. Before I got the D2, I used it 3-6 times a week in the summer and never charged over winter. I charged the coil every other hunt and sometimes after a single hunt if it went more than 3 hrs. Honestly, I treat my Li-ion...

Wonderful contribution! The first display looks like Johnny Cash in the photo;).

I forgot about this little bag of finds from Spring Break

I've found a number of Indians on top like they were just dropped. You are right (at least in my case), my finds were all from the recently plowed field. Ironically, in all my years of hunting, I've never found an arrowhead while detecting the area farm fields which are known to be full of them.

Deus 2 audio module ws6 modification

This is my latest headset made with the $12 Black Friday Baseus BT headset deal. If I factor in the cost of additional materials like hardware and MEK solvent for making the ABS plastic glue, they actually cost much more to complete the ensemble. I took the ABS plastic mounting posts from a...

Targets of opportunity and possible Morgan’s Raid connection

Nice finds! I've found a couple old brass clock keys, but never a skeleton key.

    New field

Yes, a silver dime. It used to be a sod farm; a lot of coins/tokens are mangled by the sod farming equipment. I believe I said in a previous thread about the adjacent field, that I can only imagine how many good targets got rolled up in the sod and sent to different yards around the area.

Here's a good cheap set of headphones for anybody looking to construct a set of headphones with their WS6 puck. It has the 3.5mm input jack. I found them on Amazon through Slickdeals. U need the coupon code to get them for $12. I bought a pair and they are nice. However, you have to figure out...

Looking for a 3D file for a Tesoro battery door.

PM "Dig-On" on Friendly forum if you haven't already contacted him. He made some 3-D printed doors for Tesoro a couple years back. Might be able to help you.

A Few More Finds Before Winter Slammed the Door

Love finding bale seals. That's a nice one.

    Harvest time!

That sounds like old gasoline to me, I get nauseated by the smell of it.

    New field

Just a few pics of last Sunday's hunt. Probably my last for the year unless we have a warm-up. Also shown are some of the things I normally throw away (except the lead). Makeup case half, ointment or make-up tin, Locks, Chunks of lead (top 2 on the right), razor handle (I've found around 6-8 of...

    New field

Yesterday I dug 2 mercs, about 10 pennies, and 2 nickels (one buffalo and one 1895 V nickel). The site is very productive and I only have today left before it gets too cold for me to hunt for the foreseeable future. I will be at this site for the next couple years if the owners permit. Wonderful...

    New field

Rick, the tokens are badly burned out from the fertilizer (my guess). Same with the pennies. Just enough detail to read some. The aluminum/tin tokens are rotted much like zinc pennies and much of the targets are beat to hell from the sod farming equipment. Even large chunks of brass/copper, and...

    New field

Donna, I am beginning to believe it may be a site where the Twp. hosted an annual expo/carnival. With rides, booths, etc. I plan to go to the Twp. offices and ask what they know about the area. I'm finding this stuff including iron targets 500-800 ft off the road. I've found ointment tubes, 2...

    New field

Definitely brass. I thought it was a bullet when I pulled it from the soil. It has a nub on the flat end as if there was something attached there. I have no clue but would be nice to know what it was for.

    New field

I went to the original field that I found all the artifacts and coins this spring, but the farmer planted corn making it very difficult to hunt with the stubble and fodder left behind. Still, I found 5 wheat pennies. The owner of the property behind had offered to let me hunt his field (even...

    Beat Copper coin

Looks like IICV across the top left. I'm not good at coin ID but a member by the name of Mackaydon is amazing. Not sure if he's on this forum, the name doesn't show up in the search, but he is on TreasureNet. Also, sometimes it's possible to extract more detail using filters. Not sure if you can...

Is this some kind of oiler?

Looks like a permanently mounted for a candle holder to me.

Deus 2 audio module ws6 modification

You will need some spacers under the mounting screws to raise the adaptor above headphone body, so that the puck has room to slide on. I used ~2mm thick nylon washers that I had, but any non-conductive material will work. I used a cheap set of ANC headphones in hopes of taking advantage of noise...
