    I have both, your right about trashy area on the 5×8, I like it and has a good punch in the ground , and my m9 stays on mostly unit I need to dial in trashy spots the m8 come out .

    I had to look at mine again , yes go to discrimination pattern arrow to right from all metal to custom and top top right botton and scroll your red vertical line the says ( 0) and move it over to right to accept or reject your ID# , now you can adjust selection width by using the north /...

    I love the manticore, I have all the coils in the arsenal from m8 to the 18" , the 18" is deep beyond belief, keep your hand trowel in your pouch lol I use the long handle predator shovel , but all in all its awesome. And the colored screen /2d target profile great.

    I would go with exterra pro or elite, you can get a decent price on used coils , the 6" is complimentary to the elite which i have , great for wooded areas / trash laden areas.

    I finally got all the coils for the manticore, I really like the m15 on open ground and I can still slice through the targets with ease , m8 coil is ideal looking for your cross. M9 is just a outright performer no matter what your hunting for.i do use a sling for the sweet15 lol
