    Our electric coop uses wy fi or some something to remote read meters, the emi by the road was intense. Noise cancelled and lowered the sense a bit and kept right on hunting, but in the back of my mind I wondered how much it still hurts performance.

    4 inches shouldn't even phase that machine. Could possibly be masked by iron from a different direction. Another possibility is you might have discriminated out part of your screen. How hot is your soil, certain parts of Virginia have pretty tough soil. Welcome to a great hobby!
