Looking for a Tesoro coil for a Vaquero. 4-pin.

Wanting to buy a delta coil for a Tesoro machine. 4-pin coil. Any size. But would prefer a smaller and not so expensive price. I might entertain a trade option, for a very old, Silver Sabre and a 7-inch solid white coil. This machine is fully analog, and has had the electrolytic caps...

What detector have you Sold that you have Sellers Remorse????

I've regretted selling my Tesoro Eldorado. That was my first 'real' metal detector. I can't even remember what upgrade machine I got to replace it. And then, through the years, I've also regretted selling a Tesoro Golden with a Troy coil. It was a great combination. Now I've got a few...

    BBS 800 Coil Compatibility

So we learned NOT to epoxy anything, until it tests right. If this coil is being used on a Sov machine, no need to epoxy. If after you solder the connector, and it doesn't act correctly, then you gotta reverse either wires 1&2, and re-test. If it is almost testing good, then reverse wires...

    BBS 800 Coil Compatibility

It will take a little bit of time to figure out the wire situation, but it can be done. Hopefully the wires are in order without any crossovers. If you have a digital VOM, that can read higher than 20M ohms and is AUTO scaling, we can try this. Keep in mind, that the Mega ohm readings will...

The 8 inch Tornado cable problem

No celebrations after all. The final price is a little too high for a coil that has been cut, coming from Aussie land. I do have a 10-incher coming in from 'one of our own' (Odanscoils). I will survive life with out one. Thanks for the congrats though.

The 8 inch Tornado cable problem

Tony, Put me down for 1 then. I think I can afford $30-40 bux, plus shipping. I have been looking for one of these for years now. I'm sure someone else will just offer you a lot more for them, so no hard feelings if you sell them off right away. I'm not sure on how to proceed with this...

    BBS 800 Coil Compatibility

My opinion is to replace the cable. It takes a little time, but if done right, the cable should last for years and years.

The 8 inch Tornado cable problem

sell me 1. Send me 2, and I'll do the repair. Are they the 8 inch ones?

    Favorite Sovereign coil?

Between the BBS and tornado coils, the tornado coil is slimmer and lighter. Not by much, but still, slightly lighter.

    Favorite Sovereign coil?

This is for Odanscoils. The older BBS1000 compared to the NEL Thunder coil. I hope you do find the 8 incher. As for the meters, the SunrayDTI meter and the Minelab meters are pretty much the same. The DTI is a larger footprint, but has almost the same size display screen. The angle of the...

    Noisy Sov in all-metal Pin-Point!!

There is a wire soldered to ground and a paperclip that attaches to the foil shield.

    Sovereign Gt

I did reply to Odanscoil. I have the meter for him. I just didn't log in for a while. I hope he got my messages as I have been waiting for an 8 inch sov coil for the longest time.

    Sovereign Gt

I'm still looking for an 8-inch tornado coil for my Sovereign. I just did a search on ALL of CL, (30JAN26), and only found an older XS unit. Nothing else. Might suggest joining multiple metal detector forums and asking in each one. Hopefully you get a hit.

    Remote Discrimination Switch For Sovereign

The quality of the switch may be in question. A remote switch, or button, can be placed in the handle, depending on the type of handle you have. Another variable is the type of switch or button. It's fairly easy to do. Just hard to explain over text.

The 8 inch Tornado cable problem

I find it easier to replace the entire run of cable and epoxy it at the coil end with a cable gland. Once the wires are cut and the internal sheaths are of the same color, all bets are off. It becomes more difficult, but can still be done.
