How good is the v3i for gold prospecting?

Based on the coils that I have I will be using the 4x6 elliptical unless i get the motivation to spring for a new 10 inch elliptical.....we will be searching for specimen gold and small nuggets...so I think that the 4x6 would probably be my best bet, but I am certainly open to suggestions...

How good is the v3i for gold prospecting?

Haven't used my v3i out west yet, but I anticipate that there will be quite a bit of ground balancing going on to remain at all effective in my hunts. The place where we will be hunting is very mineralized and the ground changes from one ridge to the next...often times even more than that...

How good is the v3i for gold prospecting?

Can anyone tell me if they have had any success with the v3i prospecting dry stream beds for small gold? I am taking a trip out west to go prospecting with my nephew in the spring for a few days and I would like to hear from anyone who has used the v3i in this manner. It has been a...

    Tejon for Gold Prospecting?

I am headed out west in the spring, to do some prospecting with my nephew. I will be using my backup detector but I want to take a detector for him to use as well. I have a couple Tejons, that are both very nice machines. Will a Tejon be productive as say a Lobo Supertraq in prospecting old...

    The V3i plunge

It takes a while to learn...even though it has preprogrammed "pick up and hunt" settings...the real treat is when you figure out how to tweak it to your specific style and ground that you hunt. Sometimes I love mine...and sometimes it frustrates me...but I am keeping after it, and hope to make...

Anyone tried the SEF on the Tejon yet?

I am looking to try a Kellyco SEF on my Tejon, and I was wondering if anyone had tried it yet and if so what was the result? I just picked up a big field that has been used as a parking area for a yearly festival, and hasn't been detected as far as anyone knows...so I was thinking of giving...

V3i finds my first Civil War Relic

Went out hunting this morning with my son and my best friend. Started out in a field that didnt produce many relics, a few pieces of iron and a shotgun shell for me. Then we moved to the field just above us, and about 50 steps into the field I got a 81-82 VDI......solid and repeatable...said...

    Analyze screen

First Welcome to the board....second....the size analyze...well...trust your ears more than your eyes on this one. Short crisp blips on a pinpoint almost always mean a good target(or a small piece of can slaw) If it is a long drawn out beep on pinpoint....chances are its something much bigger...
