Yes you can. I have seen the instruction elsewhere ............ you could try a Google-about as I can't quote the location here.

White's Spectra V3i programs for the UK

Let me have your email addy and I'll send you my spreadsheet of UK programs .................

    v3/v3i

I'm in the UK and have had a V3/i for just over 18 months and I have found it to be very good when it is set up right for our conditions and targets - however, that has been down to us to sort out for ourselves since launch! Let's be honest and say that the UK Factory - though they do their...

2.5 KHZ OR 22 KHZ FOR HAMMERED SILVER ON BRITISH SOIL ??

I'm mainly on ploughed land in Suffolk - I don't have much pasture. Anyway, I have the stock coil (very good for most situations but very sensitive to EMI); 6x10 elliptical - good for more polluted sites and I like it on the beach; sharp response and so light to swing but a little less depth...

2.5 KHZ OR 22 KHZ FOR HAMMERED SILVER ON BRITISH SOIL ??

Yes that's right - Disc Sens is always higher than AM in my programmes. I think running it like this is why I have had several very small hammies from close to iron - the V3i just seems to "hang on" to a bit of the positive signal amidst all the negative. I have tried running sens/rx hotter but...

2.5 KHZ OR 22 KHZ FOR HAMMERED SILVER ON BRITISH SOIL ??

Something I should have mentioned is that I run disc wide open and use the tone ID to pick out the iron (I have a zero tone for what would be iron) and to ID hammies. It is also a good way to pick out coke - though I usually double-check with the Polar Plot as it gives a very clear horizontal...

2.5 KHZ OR 22 KHZ FOR HAMMERED SILVER ON BRITISH SOIL ??

I'm in the UK and have had a V3/V3i for about a year and my preference is for 3-frequencies. Yes, the 22.5KHz is supposed to be sharpest on small/thin hammered coins, but I find the smoothness of a 3-frequency mode much better than the single frequency mode. For me, the 3-frequencies seem to...

    polar grahp

FWIW I also use Salt Mode where there is a lot of coke as it has a natural tendency to ignore it - I just set the -1 to +5 VDI tone to a low grunt, just to be sure!

    polar grahp

It is very good for id'ing coke (an issue for a lot of us in the UK) - it just gives a horizontal line - blue dominant. Never need to dig coke again!! Also good on iron (big loops).

    15x12" Sef v-rated just showed up....Deep Seeker!!!

No, can't generally run TXB on and Rx @ 15 on the SEF but I had a hunt a few days back whereground conditions etc must have been ideal as I was able to get to about 12 with TXB on and Sens at 85/65. Generally though I run as above without TXB.

    15x12" Sef v-rated just showed up....Deep Seeker!!!

I have the 10x12 SEF too and can swing that all day with ease. It has got me several medieval hammered silver coins in the last few months. Depth is good and sensitivity excellent. The Salt Mode has made it easier to run it with Rx/Sens almost as high as the stock coil.

    15x12" Sef v-rated just showed up....Deep Seeker!!!

I have a 12x15 on my V3i. It is a few months old so won't be V-rated but it runs deep and well at Rx 10 and Sens80/60. It covers the ground quickly and reacts sharply on UK targets but it is too heavy for me to swing due to an elbow problem so I am selling mine .............. pity! :(

Poor performance of V3 on corn stubble

Hiyer - I'm in the UK too - I haven't been on stubble that much and I haven't particularly noticed the problems you are having, but I would expect to lose a bit of depth as I don't like the coil through the rough stuff. I am using 5 KHz filters. Otherwise your settings are just like mine. I use...

    M6 better than V3i?

Same with modern low-value coins in the UK.

    10 x 14 SEF coil

You may well be right there - the bigger one (12x15) is more tricky and I have to watch Rx more closely to keep it quiet and stable (but I haven't tried it with 3-Freq Salt yet) but the usable Rx last time out was 6 to 8. I was thinking it was just a mineralisation issue (seeing more minerals so...

    10 x 14 SEF coil

I have the 10x12 and 12x15 (was out with the smaller one today). Both work well - the big one covers the ground quickly and I consider it a specialist coil - the smaller one is much like the 10"DD but seems to respond more sharply, is a bit deeper and less prone to falsing and EMI I think. Using...

What is ment by " V rated coils" ?

I have the stock coil and a (currently defective) 6x10. I consider the SEFs specialist coils - good for quiet areas (both) and for doing a quick check and hoard check (12x15). Both are very good on the dry beach. Cutting the Rx must reduce depth I guess but I've not done any scientific tests...

What is ment by " V rated coils" ?

I have the 10x12 and 12x15 SEFs for my V3i. They work perfectly well so long as you keep the Rx down!! I can get Rx 12 to 15 on my stock coil whereas running the same settings with the SEF I need to drop Rx to something in the range 6 to 8. As others have said, it is the 22.5KHz frequency that...
