    XT 18000

The XT 18000 has a plastic control box . The battery cover is also plastic. If it were metal I could fabricate a cover but I am at a loss when dealing with plastic. The worn-out cover I have is being held in place with a screw. It works but just isn't right. Thanks for the input.

    XT 18000

I have an old Minelab Xt 18000 that I love. I have found a lot of gold with it. The battery cover latch has worn out. I recently bought another XT 18000 sight unseen and it came without a battery cover. So now I have 2 vintage machines without battery covers. It sucks that you cannot get parts...

    Legend in Goldfields

I am telling you the threshold is not reporting anything but the constant buzz of another universe. In goldfields mode.

    Legend in Goldfields

I started to test the Legend in my yard. I had 1/10th gram up to 5-gram nuggets, high-grade gold specimens, and a 38-gram nugget. All of the below 5-gram nuggets had a VDI of 11. The specimens returned a Vdi of 11. The 38 grammer rang up a 26. I was stopped in my tracks and sort of confused...

    Legend in Goldfields

So you are actually on the ground nugget hunting with the Legend? I will be when the snow is gone here in Montana. What is your take on the threshold in goldfield mode?

    Legend in Goldfields

So your intent here is to be a pain in the ass?

    Legend in Goldfields

I think every machine is different. This is my second multi-frequency detector. I have a Vanquish. Even though I have been detecting successfully for a very long time the Legend is presenting me with a pretty steep learning curve. I see the potential for a pretty good gold detector here. Just...

    Legend in Goldfields

WHY? It would seem by my post that I am dealing with the threshold on a Nokta Makro Legend. You're saying I should shit-can it?

    Legend in Goldfields

I have a couple of vlf gold machines. But I want to use the Legend as an all-around machine.

    Legend in Goldfields

Thanks! Good to know. I feel like a newby with this multi-frequency machine. I thought there may be some obscure hoops one might have to jump through to match the threshold with the tone. I am looking forward to knocking down some gold with the NM Legend. I am getting old and the learning curves...

    Legend in Goldfields

OK........So I took the Legend out with some small nuggets and specimens with visible gold. In Goldfield's mode, there is a threshold tone but it seems to be disconnected from the signals. Just a steady tone with no waver or bump or anything. This cannot be right. Am I missing something here...

    Legend in Goldfields

Howdy....It has been a while since I posted here but am back. Has or does anyone intend to use the Legend to capture gold nuggets or gold specimens? There is still frozen ground and snow here in my part of the world but I am looking forward to chasing some gold down with the Legend. I know it...

    Labor Day wekend find

Howdy.......I am not really new here but it has been a while since I have posted and things seem to have changed a bit. Here is a pic of my Labor Day weekend gold. All but one were found within a 10x10 foot area. The "monster" is 6.9ozs. and was an unbelievable 26 inches deep. On eof the smaller...
